Rhys Hewitt

Rhys had slumped over on his desk. His coffee mug was half full, but that didn't seem to be doing anything. He still had film to develop, and his brain was still running with thoughts.

Rhys felt as if he ran a mile when the kiss broke. His cheeks were red, almost rivaling his hair as he melted into the touch. The fingers in his hair felt nice and he ran his thumb across Nathen's cheek.

"You can kiss me as many times as you want..."

Rhys blinked. He nodded slowly before he leaned in again, kissing Nathen's gently. He was soft and sweet, running his fingers back into the other's hair. His heart felt like it was going to burst out of his chest but he didnt care. He kissed Nathen for a few minutes before finally pulling away.

Rhys had slumped over on his desk. His coffee mug was half full, but that didn't seem to be doing anything. He still had film to develop, and his brain was still running with thoughts.

Rhys knew that he shouldnt entertain this. He really shouldnt but something just nagged at the back of his mind. He knew vampires werent real. There was no such thing. "Auntie's just a senile women... Theres no way vampires took this... person away..." he muttered outloud. -📷

Rhys blinked again, listening to Cyyrus before he nodded. Things suddenly started to click into place and make more sense. Cult? It definitely sounds like a cult.

*Cyyrus finally, finally sits down on the bed near your desk. You could see how he started swaying. He takes a deep breath*

Rhys listened to the other, tilting his head. He took in the information before he reached over and placed a hand on Cyyrus's shoulder. It was clear that he had gone tgrough a lot.

Rhys had slumped over on his desk. His coffee mug was half full, but that didn't seem to be doing anything. He still had film to develop, and his brain was still running with thoughts.

"Do you need a refill? Or anything stronger?" Rhys asked, standing up. He leaned against the door to his development room before looking over at Nathen.

Nathen ran his hands through his hair, letting them rest on his neck to hold his head up, elbows resting on the desk as he looked over at Rhys.

Rhys nodded as he walked back to where they kept the kettle and burner. He dragged his chair with him so that he could just simply sit next to Nathen's desk while he waited. His sleep deprived brain didnt really reguster his actions as he ran his own fingers through Nathen's hair as he passed him.

"I don't mind. Anything at this point."

Rhys hummed in response as he continued to walk around the shared space, grabbing his mug and then Nathen's own. He half glanced at the notes in the other's journal before settling the mug next to the kettle.

"Fuzzy brain."

Rhys waved his hand dismissively at the last comment. His eyes still fixed on the kettle before he went and topped off the two mug. He returned and sat down in his chair.

"Sleep at some point, mk?"

Rhys shurgged slighlty before he sipped from his own mug, holding it gently in his hands.

Nathen blushed at the proximity, but pointed at some notes.

Rhys looked over the notes. His gears slowly turning as his brows knitted together. He read them to himself before he took another sip of his coffee. "Inside job maybe? A single disgruntled member that managed to form a mob?" He suggested.

Nathen looked up, sleepily smiling at Rhys. He was so tired at this point that thoughts weren't really forming correctly.

Rhys blinked, looking up to finally meet Nathen's gaze. His brain wasn't forming a single coherent thought, but that didn't stop him from cupping Nathen's cheek after settling his mug down.

Rhys knew that he shouldnt entertain this. He really shouldnt but something just nagged at the back of his mind. He knew vampires werent real. There was no such thing. "Auntie's just a senile women... Theres no way vampires took this... person away..." he muttered outloud. -📷

Rhys blinked again, listening to Cyyrus before he nodded. Things suddenly started to click into place and make more sense. Cult? It definitely sounds like a cult.

*Cyyrus held up the bottle proudly. The light from the window reflected the water inside and filled the room with a patterned glow.*

"People have been finding crypts all over the map with books in the chests. When they open the books, the words on them burn and all the knowledge kinda... gets ingrained in your head. It's weird sounding, but Sausage has been able to make crops grow twice as fast and Martyn can create a cloud of glowing mist around him, it's really cool! And this-"

Rhys blinked slowly as he processed just what Cyyrus was saying. "Knowledge ingrained in their skull? So they... read...?" He said, tilting his head slightly.

*Cyyrus waved his free hand around*

Rhys listened to the other ramble on as he started scribbling a few notes in his journal. He wasn't the religious type, but he understood how it could be seen as powerful to others.

"haha! Yeah! I would show you how, but it takes a really long time. And it's, like, reeeaaally draining. I don't know how I'm still standing right now."

Rhys blinked. He almost forgot about his privilege for a moment, realizing that not everyone came from a background like his. Even if there were times when he wished things were different on his end.

"Well basically, how it works is when you don't have a holy person around you need to invite the spirits in another way. Which is longer and more complicated. There's an entire prayer you need memorized too."

Rhys listened to the other. His lips formed the straight line as his eyes shifted down. He nodded in understanding. Or at least as much as he could understand. Being alone or at least feeling like he was was something he could relate to.

Rhys blinked, looking up from his scrawling. He nearly jumped at the sight of the person right in front of him, hitting his head against the trunk of the tree.

Scott mused as Rhys hit their head on the tree trunk, stifling a soft giggle escaping him as he stepped closer. Still smiling kindly as he looked down at the sitting man.

Rhys slowly stood up before extending his hand out to shake Scott's. He tucked his journal back into the inside pocket of his long coat.

Scott perked up as he shook Rhys hand, interested in the fact he was researching the massacres and the fact he heard of his family. He would have thought any whispers of it would have been smothered out 200 years ago at least when Owen massacred the town. But it was interesting Rhys knew of them.

"I... Bit of classified information, but old records showed while I was researching this place." Rhys explained, shaking Scott's hand. "It's a pleasure. Truly."

"Charmed." He said, smiling easily as he bowed his head in agreement. Folding his hands behind his back like a royal, per usual as he stood tall. He was curious exactly what classified information, or any information, could even be around about his family now. But decided not to question it, just playing along as he nodded politely.

Rhys nodded, walking beside the other his journal still in hand. He didnt really know where to start but it couldnt hurt with simple questions.

Rhys was in the woods, tucked away with his journal. Finally, a place to collect his thoughts. Even if he would rather pefer a library. He scribbled, completely unaware. 📷
