I am also a big character action game enthusiast like Ninja Gaiden, and many games in Grasshopper Manufacture's library! I also make art, sew, knit and write as well and while I am not consistent, I do make creative works!

Oh yeah. I accidentally pursued Lu Bu at Hulao Gate and won somehow. To be fair I was like so overleveled it wasn’t even funny. Level 12 Lu Bu with power ups vs a level 40-something Liu Bei is…. Certainly something.

I think Dynasty Warriors 9 is actually mechanically a good game. Kind of wished it had a more unique art style, aesthetic, better colour grading, but aside from that it’s just objectively a good game. now is it a good open world game? Probably not, but it is mostly well made…. I say mostly because you will notice like any other Koei Tecmo game in existence, there’s some jank in there. But I love me some jank so long as it doesn’t crash my game lmao.

you know speaking of dynasty warriors… I’ve had the horrible idea of playing DW8 Empires with Trinity again but this time…. On the hardest difficulty because I’ll be honest… hard mode is kind of a cakewalk once you start getting better weapons and levelling up your character when completing tasks set up during war council.

it’s just that this time I kinda want Trinity to like establish her own vagabond unit this time and make her own kingdom. First time I played as Trinity for Empires was that she was Yu Jin’s Marshal, and honestly I just kinda want to get the better weapons from sworn siblings and stuff so that I can more confidently tackle the harder side mode challenges in the game.

so today initially wanted to take DW9 for a spin and then play ace combat later.

turns out there was a lot of moving parts to DW9 (being open world) and… well… I got distracted and kinda realised that… the game is actually fun and super cozy too. think animal crossing but with combat haha. I kinda wish I got the empires version too but that feels wrong because I genuinely want to learn about the new characters that were introduced in DW9. For all the criticisms that I’ve heard of the game, I think they paint an incorrect picture of it, or at least kinda ignore the actual aspects of it that work as a game.

that said it being open world means I have NO idea what I’m doing direction wise and that also I’m missing out on a lot of cool stuff like fishing, challenge arenas, and other stuff. But right now I’m just trying to get as many officers unlocked as possible and trying to fill up the map as well with enough landmarks that I can fast travel to.
