the joy of working with middle school aged children is that, regardless of how long you've been doing it, they will always find novel ways to annoy and confuse you, which is okay because that's the natural state of the middle school aged child. anyway suffice it to say that for the past three weeks of school my 6th grade class has been greeting me at my door by lining up outside of it, playing the national anthem, and saluting me as i walk in.

i enjoy seeing people depict ships doing domestic stuff theyd never do in canon. like yes i know in my heart that those characters would NOT have children and in fact should probably be banned from it on principle but hey. you're playing with dolls. thats just a sign of sheer dedication to a ship. i gotta respect the game.

Had to ban the phrase “tricky dick” from my classroom during watergate lesson because saying the word dick in front of 30 fifteen year olds is like lighting a bomb and throwing it through the doorway but now they’re just calling him Richard the Treacherous like they’re all medieval peasants. gonna lose it

I know I’ve made this post before but I’m 90% sure if I had a heart attack I’d gaslight myself into believing it was a panic attack and lay down and die. Same with a stroke, honestly.

i guess DNI lists do work in the sense that sometimes i see a user with a DNI full of so many crazy specific discourse topics and opinions that i immediately think "this person is extremely exhausting to be around and/or fourteen years old" and lose all desire to follow them. so like. it did its job. in a way.

The absolute WORST part of writing a fic is at the end where they've made up/kissed/admitted their feelings but you still have to write a handful of satisfying paragraphs of denouement instead of just throwing down a smoke bomb and running away.
