i just really like it. both that animation and the New Years Eve animation changed my life. Like as ridiculous as it sounds these two Warrior cat animations single-handedly led me down the pipeline to realizing i was in an abusive relationship. Which is incredibly funny in hindsight. The imagery in the AMV is amazing, especially with how much the symbolism can tie to real life experiences. Ashfur, all things considered, was a normal guy, but through the AMV it's shown that Squirrelflight, to him, isn't just "prey" to capture but also, in a way, a prize to be won, before he snaps at the fire scene and just wants to destroy her, or have her loved ones destroy her. She's not an equal to him. And she never was. He felt like she was obligated to love him. "Like you're supposed to". And instead of moving on, views it as her mocking him in a way. He's lonely, but he is so caught up in looking at people already in relationships (in the beginning, all he sees is the couples. the background is completely devoid of the other cats-- it's as though they don't exist to him) and Squirrelflight, that he never bothers to move on and find someone good for him. I also noticed that the coloring in the background (up until the fire sequence by the way!!) is Squirrelflight's. All he can see is her, in everything. It highlights his obsession really well the SECOND you open the video. I also like that occasionally, Ashfur's pupils widen to an uncomfortable degree. Which can be interpreted as him finding joy in it as a way to cope, but also when people typically daydream/dissociate their eyes sort of go empty, which is what it kind of gives off to me. He's still, motionless, and in his head. This is also shown right before the fire scene which I thought was really cool.
