SEND ONE OF THE FOLLOWING FOR MY MUSEâS REACTION (Bossy version)
"Get down from there right now!"
"Come here right now!"
"Do it again, and this time do it properly."
"Do you think thatâs acceptable?"
"Honestly, this is ridiculous."
"Are you even trying?"
"Did you try?"
"What a pathetic attempt!"
"Poor effort, try again."
"This is unacceptable."
"How dare you?!"
"What a sorry excuse for a report!"
"Clean? You call this clean?"
"If this is coffee why does it tastes like piss?"
"I want this all done by 2Â oâclock."
"Donât be late."
"Thatâs no excuse."
"I wonât allow it."
"I refuse."
"Iâm revoking your privileges."
"If you fail this mission, donât even bother coming back."
"How dare you?!"
Sumia messed up. She messed up big time. It was entirely an accident when she revealed to the camp that Lonâqu didnât know how to read. She didnât even think at the time that others might catch on.
Sumia looked at her friendâs hurt expression knowing she had damaged his trust and their friendship. She had to fix this.
"Iâm so sorry Lonâqu. IâŠI wasnât thinking. I canât ask you to forgive me but I didnât mean for this to happen."
He curled his accusing finger into a fist then grimaced deeply. He dropped his hand to his side and took in a slow and deep breath. "I just... need some time alone."
He couldn't bear to upset Sumia but he was just so-- gods he didn't even have the wordsfor it. Disappointed? Angry? Betrayed?
Lon'qu didn't know, and he didn't want to think about it. Argh but he was too embarrassed to go back to his tent now... He had furiously backed Sumia into her own tent for a 'word' just a moment ago and now he had nothing to say....
A Novel || Morgan + Lon'qu
"OH!" Morgan exclaimed excitedly, "I read those!" Of course, he left out the part that when he first read those was when he was younger. He knew that Lonâqu was still trying to better train himself to read, and he seemed to be doing pretty well so far. "Just wait till you get to the third one, thatâs my favorite! It was called uhâŠwhat was it again? Wings of Light, thatâs right!â
The tactician smiled still quite sincerely at the Myrmidon. âI wonât spoil anything for you, I promise. Remind me to thank Sumia though. Sheâs got a good eye for books.â Morgan helped up his book and smiled. âShe helped me pick out this one, actually. Itâs called Oceansong. Itâs about two lovers who meet by chance, but are separated when one of the has to leave and theyâre on a totally different continent across the water, but then a war reunites them andâŠsome of the chapters are really cool, because theyâre told from the point of view of the ocean between the two and itâs written as if the ocean is singing to them and about them! Er, I donât know if itâd be your cup of tea though, since itâs kinda cheesy and romantic in some parts.â
"It sounds wonderful really but⊠a little overwhelming for me," Lonâqu eyed the book warily as he said this.Would he really ever be able to read something that daunting?
"Either way, Iâm glad you are enjoying it." Lonâqu was silent for a moment, wondering if he should invite the boy to read together sometime. But⊠he didnât seem like much of a fiction person. NeverthelessâŠ
"Would you ever be interested in reading together sometime? Iâm afraid I wouldnât be able to read you any kind of grandiose tale butâŠ"
"Reading together?!" Morgan exclaimed suddenly. His eyes widened with delight and a beaming smile set his face alight. He never thought that maybe the myrmidon would ask to read something with him. The very thought made Morgan happy. Even if it werenât something super-complex or on a grand scale like Oceansong, he would still enjoy it, he knew for sure. He might even help Lonâqu some himself while they read.
"Iâd love to, Lonâqu!" Morgan nodded, replying happily. "Just pick out a book youâd like to read and a time and Iâll come to read with you sometime! I could even have my-âŠ" The tactician blushed suddenly. How did he word his relationship to Amelia? They were clearly more than friends now, after all.
Morgan figured he might as well be up-front about it. It still felt so weird to say it though. ââŠmy uhmâŠgirlfriend, Amelia, join us on reading eventually if you donât mind. But for now, we can just keep it to the two of us if youâd prefer, just so you can get used to reading with me.â It was probably better to take slow steps with Lonâqu, particularly when it came to reading.
"I-I think I'd much prefer no women be involved," Lon'qu murmured.
..."Er... for now I mean. Forgive me, I'm sure you've heard of my -- well."
He cleared his throat and shook is head a little as if to dispel the moment. "Please, just you and I for the time being would be nice. At least until I get out of chapter books and into something more respectable."
Lon'qu bowed his head to the boy in gratitude then gave him a little smile.Â
Study Hall || Sumia + Lon'qu
Lonâqu grabbed it tentatively from the knight and flipped briefly through it. He flushed a little, a childrenâs book⊠but it wasnât like he could read much else. âThis is fine.â
He reopened the book to the first page and settled into a sitting position as he looked over the words.Â
Sumia took a seat next to her friend and settled down with a book of her own; herâs being much bigger and wordier.
She would look up and glance at Lonâqu to make sure he wasnât struggling. Sumia wanted to do more and try and help him, but she decided itâd be best to wait until the man himself asked for help.
This was nice... Sumia's tent was pleasant and cozy and this small story was really capturing Lon'qu's attention. Before he knew it it was dark, and as he snapped the book shut finally he saw only the faintest hints of red outside.Â
He also saw that Sumia was almost halfway through her hefty book... This flustered the swordsman a little and he got to his feet and bowed to her. "Thank you for allowing me to stay here. I should go before me leaving your tent raises questions." Lon'qu rubs the back of his neck as if it could help him keep down his blush.
He turned to leave then paused just as he was ducking and looked back at Sumia for a moment. "Let's do this again sometime? You're a wonderful teacher." And then he left without waiting for a response.

"What are you doing?" Panne asked, stepping up behind Lon'qu. She was well aware of the man's dislike of women and purposely positioned herself close to him.
Lonâqu jolted a little at the sudden presence and leaped away from the woman. He whipped around a little flustered and then attempted to compose himself. âD-donât do that. You surprised me.âÂ
He clarified this because he wasnât scared by her. That wasnât it at all. Only surprise. Complete and utter surprise. âCan I⊠help you? Is something I am partaking in eliciting suspicion?â Lonâqu asked.
"WellâŠ" he WAS she was right, but that wasnât really a nice way to treat others. "Once Iâm in the fray, I tend to forget about or just disregard⊠well⊠things." By things he meant his obnoxious aversion to other people.
"Would you care to train with me?"
Panne raised a brow at him then nodded. âIf you wouldnât mind, swordsman.â She had to admit, it would be an interesting experience to train with Lonâqu. She had seen his skill with the sword on the battlefield but never up close.
He gave her a brief nod then turned and gestured for her to follow him out to the training area. "I'd like to practice my archery, would you be able to get some agility training in if I shot at you? If that's not useful... just say the word."Â
âĄ
The first thing Lissa heard was chirping birds. Bright light was shining on her face. That must have been what had woken her. Yawning and stretching she opened her eyes.
Only then did she realize that she wasnât in her tent and that Lonâqu was sleeping in the bed beside her. Lissa shuddered as she imagined the chaos that would result if he found out that she had spent the night in his tent.
Panicking, she jumped up from the bed and grabbed her healing staff, ready to sneak out quietly before he noticed.
Unfortunately, despite having slept rather comfortably, Lon'qu was still quick to wake up at the sensation of movement. He jolted a little then looked around drearily. "Huh? Hello?" He made out a figure that was heading for the door but whom froze at the sound of his vioce.
He sat up slowly and shivered a little, feeling as though heat was absent from him. "Can I help you?" What was the hour? Was he late to breakfast or something?
â
"L-Lonâqu are you⊠wearing my hat?" Rickenâs face when he spotted Lonâqu inside his tent was pure confusion until it suddenly cracked with a hysterical smile and laughter.
"Oh my GODS you look ridiculous! Your hair just, and the cape is just woOSH and o h my gods Iâm DYING." He wheezed, doubled over with laughter. He slowly calmed down, still burting into giggle fits at times.
"That might look okay on you if it was actually, you know, your size."
Lon'qu smiled, the deed was done. Ricken had seemed mopey all day... Lon'qu had to figure out a way to make him laugh again and so he had chosen this. It was perhaps a little unorthodox, but it worked. Even if Lon'qu wasn't sure how he was going to get this cloak off. His small clothes were just about showing, gods at least Ricken was smiling.
â
Ricken sat in Lonâquâs lap, and patiently waited while Lonâqu struggled over a word. Once the older man got a bit frustrated, Ricken piped up. âHey, no need to rush okay? Just sound it out.â He snuggled his brother a little and pointed to where Lonâqu was reading to help him stay on track. It seemed like his older brother struggled with keeping on the same line or on the same word, and Ricken figured that keeping track of it would help him a bit.
Lon'qu sighed in exasperation and repeated the line he was on for the umpteenth time. "The girl found herself in a... p-preh... dih... predic-- im-eent" Lon'qu frowned, that didn't sound right. "int? predicament?" Â
Why was she so interested? Trying to make friends had never exactly been Lonâquâs strong suit. âEr well⊠I was preparing to train. I assure you Iâm not interesting. I just swing around a sword and ocassionally shoot some arrows. I eat, I sleep, I do nothing special I can think of.â
That just about covered it. The swordsman considered asking Panne what SHES does all day but realized it would lead to pointless chitchat he wasnât interested in. He then berated himself mentally because he could at least TRY to be nice to his comrades.
Panne crossed her arms. âYou are more interesting than you give yourself credit for, swordsman.â She gave him a very slight smile. âI suppose I will leave you to your training, then. Since you are so adamant about getting rid of me.â
"Well..." he WAS she was right, but that wasn't really a nice way to treat others. "Once I'm in the fray, I tend to forget about or just disregard... well... things." By things he meant his obnoxious aversion to other people.
"Would you care to train with me?"

Study Hall || Sumia + Lon'qu
Lonâqu pondered it for a moment, and then imagined one of the other Shepherds walking in and would not only hear Lonâqu stumble and mumble to himself like an idiot but would also see him and Sumia so close. Eugh, he hated rumours. Especially when they were about him.
The man nodded then and stood once more, âLetâs go.â As Sumia stood Lonâqu let his eyes fall to his feet and after a moment he mumbled, âThank you.â
The knight really seemed to understand him, if at least on this. It was a nice feeling; knowing someone Got him.
"Itâs not at all a problem Lonâqu," Sumia said brightly. She wanted him to be comfortable. She lead the way back to her tent, opening the flap for Lonâqu to enter. Once they were both inside she began digging through her book collection, muttering to herself. She stopped every once in a while to examine a book before muttering again and placing it back.
Finally Sumia stood with a thin book in her hands, extending it to her friend.
"Itâs a childrenâs book. Iâve had it for quite some time. Itâs a pretty easy story about a girl lost in the woods. She eventually finds her way out with the aid of woodland creatures after being chased by some of the meaner ones." Sumia blushed slightly. "Iâve always loved the story. We can start with this if you donât mind."
Lon'qu grabbed it tentatively from the knight and flipped briefly through it. He flushed a little, a children's book... but it wasn't like he could read much else. "This is fine."
He reopened the book to the first page and settled into a sitting position as he looked over the words.Â
A Novel || Morgan + Lon'qu
"Ah, figures Sumia would pick out something youâd like! Sheâs always trying her hardest to be helpful, after all. The sorts of books I read are more complex usually. Sumiaâs good with just about any kind of fiction book though!" He gave the swordsman a genuine smile. He really liked Sumia. She was sweet and earnest, and always tried her best.
"Oh, me? No Iâm fine. I know exactly where in the story I am, and besides, I guess Iâm kinda the one who bumped into you. After all Iâm a lot smaller than you, and youâre kinda hard to miss. So, er, sorry again, especially if I interrupted your reading." The tactician was actually pretty genuinely embarrassed that heâd bumped into Lonâqu like he had. Or at least, he was pretty sure he was at fault anyways. But Lonâqu seemed as stoic as ever, and not too upset. Why not make some pleasant conversation, in that case?
"So what did Sumia give to you to read?" He gave Lonâqu his usual happy, upbeat bright smile. It was never really forced, it just came naturally to him to be positive. "Must be something super-interesting to catch your eye!"
Lonâqu shut the book over his finger, which was on the page he had left off on, and looked at the title. He turned a little red, not sure how to say it out loud really. ââM-manakete Heh-roes? Heroes?â How embarassing, that word appeared several times throughout the book and he still couldnât say it.Â
Lonâqu cleared his throat, âManakete Heroes, I think its the first in a small series. Tales about little manaketes that help out humans.â Gods that sounded so childish, but he couldnât read anything more complex.
Robin looked down at the pie he was just handed. Lissa, the one who gave it to him, just ran off without so much as an explanation. Robin was hungry and the pie smelled delicious. Yet it seemed to be a bit much as well. Maybe he could find someone to share it with?
Robin looked around and eventually stopped when he saw Lonâqu. They had many chanced to interact lately so why not share the pie? Robin headed over and smiled at the man.
"Hello Lonâqu. Would you like some pie? I think it might be pecan or something close."
The swordsman raised a brow at the offer. âIâm⊠not much ofâŠâ But that look on the boyâs face. Ah how could he say no⊠"Thatâs very kind of you, Robin," Lonâqu faced the tactician fully now. "I would be honoured to share food with you."
Robin was pleased to hear that. He wasnât sure if Lonâqu would eat it with him. He motioned for the other man to follow him and picked a spot to eat.
"I am not sure who made it but Iâm sure it will be good." He stuck a fork into the pie and eat a small bite. He smiled and moved it closer to Lonâqu.
"Try it."
"Should you be eating it so freely then?" Ah but that pleased grin on the tacticians face... Lon'qu waited a moment to make sure he wouldn't be needed to spring into action over a poisoned or explosive pie before grabbing the other fork and cutting some pie out for himself.

Sumia sniffled as she sat on a rock. How could this have happened to her? She was always careful with her things but now it was gone. Sumia felt so stupid and now here she was sobbing like a child.
Sumia hoped that no one would find her here, crying her eyes out like a fool.
Like always, Lonâqu had kept his eyes out for the whole camp. And a while ago Sumia had wandered off by herself. He tried to give everyone space, but sheâd been gone so long⊠He decided to go after her and was lead to her location from the sound of sniffling. The swordsman was stunned to find the knight in tears and wondered how to approach her. Probably just going straight up would be best. Lonâqu heavied the sound of his footfalls as he came to her side. âSumia?â
Sumia was happy that Lonâqu had made his presence known before speaking. She wiped at her face and looked up at her friend sniffling.
"Oh hey Lonâqu. I didnât expect to see you. Is there somethingâŠsomething you need?" Sumia wanted to talk to Lonâqu about what happened but at the same time she didnât want to dump this all on him too. She felt conflicted but had a feeling that the man would offer his assistance. He was like that.
Lon'qu felt a small smile crawl over his face. Even in her own despair Sumia tried to be helpful, she was wonderful. "Not in particular, but you Sumia... do you need something?" The man didn't want to point out her tear-stained cheeks in particular in case it upset her, but he hoped the point came across that it was obvious she had been crying.
Winter's Embrace || Inigo + Lon'qu
-
Lonâqu came over to Inigo and wrapped his arms around the boy, he hadnât realized just how bad of a condition the other was in. âForgive me, of course we do. But first we need to make sure you can survive the wait.â
He hugged the other close and looked around for some kind of shelter. This was a mountain there had to be caves or something right? He would drop Inigo off and promptly run to find materials for a fire. But he also didnât have much time to look around for said shelter as the sun was setting quicker than he originally had thought.
Inigo couldnât help himself from putting his arms around Lonâqu and holding the older man as close as humanly possible. âL-L-L-L-L-LonâquâŠI canât move,â he whispered. Still, the prince did find comfort in being close to the other man. He could feel the swordmasterâs body heat coming off him ever slightly.
"You will be fine," Lon'qu said. Inigo was about as tall and heavy as he, but it was looking more and more like Lon'qu would need to carry the boy if he wanted them to get through this alive.
So, after a moment's hesitance, the swordsman hoisted the other up into his arms as if the boy was still a child. There was no way Lon'qu would be walking far like this, but he prayed it would help some.
