artemis ii has really put into perspective for me just how much nothing there is out there. and therefore, just how much something there is down here. there is joy and grief and love and anger and fear and family and friends and summer and winter and cats and birds and sports and science and sunlight and knowledge and humans and life. there is so much fucking life on this amazing planet. life that can do and has done incredible things. we sent 4 humans into the nothing, further into the nothing than anyone ever has before. the fact that we were even able to get them up there is nothing short of a miracle. the fact that they came back so safely is even more astounding. that was us. humanity. humans did that. and we did it without letting go of all that humour, joy and empathy that makes us who we are as a species.
