In places such as Late Antiquity West Asia, a rigid diametric "monotheism-against-polytheism" wasn't actually the evidential norm, and different Christian, Islamic, and Jewish thinkers actively engaged with their "paganistic" roots in different ways and thinking). Monolatry, henotheism, and among others existed across much of Late Antiquity, to the chagrin of Imperial authorities.
