When the rest of the team come back from their mission to find Dustin injured and Eddie seemingly fine, Steve gets really mad at Eddie for not being able to protect Dustin. (Maybe he says a bunch of mean things in the heat of the moment - calls Eddie a coward, mocks him for always running, says that he shouldn't have let Dustin go with him etc.) Dustin tries to argue with him, but Steve won't listen.

While everyone is focused on Dustin, comforting him, tending to his wounds, praising him for being brave, Eddie stands quietly in a corner, rather relieved that no one is paying attention to him anymore - until he eventually passes out from pain and blood loss.
