Recently last year, the descendants of pat sullivan aka his nephew who was name after his uncle sued the oriolo family aka don oriolo of not receiving any inheritance from the wealth of felix the cat.

Don said he did

While sullivan family said he didn't

It is currently on going but it is questionable to know if this is greed or betrayal?

In the history of sullivan family in australia, they literally lawyer up against otto messmer after pat sullivan's during the 1930s. Which led to felix being owned by the Australian family than the American. Otto would have to ask permission to even use the exact creation he made and was promised to own felix after pat's death.

Even the 1955 history episode from walt disney, story of animated drawings where walt request something from otto would asked to even animated felix and it would be given to walt. Walt either knows or don't but he would mention otto as a team effort on felix. (Not saying he is a saint on something like that, when later on ub iwerks family would being loud about the same issues or atleast the both them and the fans)

But sullivans could be greedy but don does have some controling issues at the time with felix during the 90s. And want felix to be heavily his father's personality character than the one before it

It is stressful and confusing and I just started rambling about this long but lawsuit on the last longest surviving cartoon cat inheritance. Wow

My rant is about the fact that nowadays felix is getting attention again like how the 60s brought that before. Many now people know his existence and started assumed many things about him.

(Also I meant those who knows or is familiar felix look or name but they aren't that much in the fandom or not much of person who cared about cartoon and if so, then not fan of the vintage side of it)

Like a repeat of any the stereotypes of those forgotten.

I really dislike that people would asked who and when they get the answer. Give the biggest shrug about it like okay? Or and?

Why i am mention this. Because I did (I know this wouldn't change the person in question but it just annoyed the hell out of me) I did saw a post on twitter where someone asked a question about who is felix the cat. A simple question and alot of the comments were 50% nice to respond it. And few that were shit heads about it. I didn't reply to it but read more. I kept seeing the response that explained it nicely that op responded with shrugged about the response and just say that's it? Like they were just you know not understanding or caring.

I also saw a shithead that reply like oh his cartoons aren't good and blah blah and that's why he is forgotten or aint making anything nowadays. Like wow rude. I didn't respond to it but it just bugged the hell out of it. The post in question was connected to another that was deleted which the original-original was something related to felix or something close to him.

I am not here for a response from anyone but if you want you can but i already know about the whole, "you shouldn't get emotional about a twitter post and just ignored it." Or "it's twitter and twitter is toxic and blah blah." I did and moved on but I just want to rant about something that I saw and my brain decided to remind me of it

Besides that, I like (not a rant here) i like that felix the cat is returning to the limelight/public light little bit more in 2026. Even if it is little. It is something than nothing. And the more we notice him, the more chances universal studios/dreamworks could do something towards the old cat.

He is a heavy drinker cat in a world of light weights.

And I like that fact about him that define him differently from the disney stereotype that non fans put on cartoons and him as a whole.

I like them. It made him cat and removing them make it weird to see.

I dont mind watching him appear without it but it does feels weird without it.

The main director of Vs. Felix the Cat (JJ2COOL) left the internet with having almost every account of his being erased, and that caused the mod to be canceled.

It's unknown as to why, but it was most likely because of something in his life that made him leave.

Hopefully JJ is still doing well after like 2-3 years of being absent online.

Felix is a black man and it's important to multiple shorts/comics of his but that blunt canon blackness is not nearly as talked about as headcanoned queerness and it pisses me offffff esp since i like queer headcanons i love them but not when they OVERSHADOWS canon blackness oh my godddddddd

And I remembered that, no one liked the joe oriolo characters or the concept of it. and created bad and messy versions of both the professor and rock bottom. Understand to mess the son of the creator of these characters in a way to poke the bear. Because we know behind the scenes. But I started to grow this distaste on messing the characters in a negative light. But again I understand the frustration of don bugging them and criticizing their take of the character or his father's characters.

Anyways, rant over . I spotted an information about leadfanny aka twisted tales of felix the cat take on rock bottom, where they made him gay. Or in the flamboyant type gay.

My questionis, does this effect rock bottom in that take (gay the same)or does everyone see it as a separate character (separate gay/straight)?
