Partook in my semi-annual ritual of seeing the sea. Many things to enjoy about the sea! Some things I especially took note of this time were, in a non-specific order: The green colour inside the waves only visible in places where the sun and sky wasn’t reflecting off of it. The way sand and silt makes the water glittery, more solid-seeming. The way this apparent “solidity” combines with its still-liquid movement, enhancing the wonder of such a diverse liquid. The momentary stripe of light on the beach sand that is caused by the curving, thinning, approaching waves magnifying light inside itself. The way that waves crashing into rocks slide and tumble down on their own familiar paths worn into the cliffs. The brief overlapping round arches of a surf that crash into the sand. The way the white water leaps and jumps forward. The way the white water disintegrates. The faintest hints of rocks, sand, substrate, that you can only barely make out as you look directly into the waves. The brief period before a surf slams into the sand and rocks with its full power, where it looks like the most beautiful glass or gelatine. Small rocks and sand crinkling and bubbling when the waves pull them around.

Growing up, older folks would always get confused when I expressed familiarity with media from their childhoods and would act incredulous when I attempted to explain the concept of reruns. They'd be like "How do you, a child of this fallen era, know of Looney Tunes" and I'd be like "Because it has never not been playing on television" and this would seem to be brand new information to them

proposing a new genre of fiction called an anti-romance where u r presented w a couple at the start & the story is about their emotional journey towards a catastrophic break up

will they won't they (end this farce). there's only one bed (but for some reason they don't really want to share it). out of context eavesdropping (that paints the relationship in a better light than it deserves). chasing after them to stop them getting on that plane (and stopping them from finally being free)

nobody understands my vision i don't mean any old story where a relationship fails and it's tragic or w/e i mean a story where the intention is for the audience to root for it failing the same way u root for it succeeding in a romance. & when the relationship finally implodes at the climax of the story it's all very cathartic & everybody cheers.
