Felicity

I painted this for an event on DeviantArt where we were given a phrase with a character and we had to draw it. I got "Charlie Brown, on the moon, after losing a bet."

ABOUT DRAWING THIS Normally, I'm holding my breath while inking lineart to make it as smooth as possible, but wobbly lineart was part of Schulz's style, and, in my opinion, one of the design factors contributing to the cuteness and awkwardness of the characters (esp. Charlie Brown), so making shaky lines on purpose was interesting. I did it only for the character; perhaps I should have done it for the whole thing.

This was an exercise in negative space. On DevianArt, in 2017, we were given a template with a handful of lines that resembled a person with a hairbun doing the "is this a pigeon" meme pose with the butterfly, and we had to finish it. Except, I wanted to see if I could turn it into something completely different, while keeping all the lines from the template.
