human beings are most inclined to love the things that hurt them the most not because we are masochists by birth, but because we are taught from a young age that true love is going to, is supposed to, hurt you in ways you cannot fathom

Just because your past has been damaged doesn’t mean your future has to be worthless.

We always read these love poems and novels about loved ones. We always hear love and lust songs. We always hear the phrase “There’s something about her/him…” We always see people suffering after a fight or break up with their loved one. We always catch someone staring at another in an attentive way. We ask ourselves, what is it that makes someone so attached to another? What is it that makes someone want someone so badly? What is it that makes people get high on love and lust? and then I ask myself, Is it possible that I am living on the same standards? Loving someone and making eternal promises? Wanted by someone so badly? The thing is, we all live in an infinite cycle of emotions, that we have become oblivious to what they really are. All we really care about is finding these things, despite the fact that we may already have them. But we end up wanting them with the people who will never give them to us, and that is why love is always a strange word to us.

Numbing the pain for a while will make it worse when you finally feel it.
