ITS SKETCHY BUT I THINK THATS WHAT MAKES IT WORK

Bird mask fella is Dallas Durazno, and the spider is Hachi. They are both from my (hopefully one day) series called ‘Wild Hijinx’. It’s still a big work in progress, and I plan to show more of their universe in the future!

Um- I don’t really have an excuse I just kinda vanished that’s my bad. I’m so sorry, for just disappearing like that.

I’ve just been making art of my characters (I’m gonna be hopfully posting more about them), trying to animate, my friend got me into Danganronpa so we’ve been playing that (haven’t finished V3 yet). Beastwars is still very near and dear to my heart, but it has kind of taken a backseat right now, but I still love it dearly and will post it occasionally (hopefully)

Goal is to post more but I can’t guarantee

I did do my Pride Month art piece (several months later). I am so sorry it took so long, thank you for being so patient

⚠️Beastwars Spoilers season 2-3⚠️

Topic: BlackArachnia and SilverBolt, but mostly my dislike for SilverBolt as a character

Here’s my hot take: I don’t like BlackArachnia and SilverBolts relationship

I love their dynamic, An iconic girl boss warrior and her idiotic knight of a boyfriend. That’s amazing!

But I don’t care for them at all, specially SilverBolt

First of all, his first line of meeting her which was during a battle near the end of Season 2 Episode 4 at 17:38, THE FIRST TIME THEY MEET FACE TO FACE, he automatically dismisses her and says “No, my friend, it is not right to strike a female”. Which like yeah but you’re in a war and she tried to kill you? Also that phrase just dismisses Women basically saying they aren’t strong enough or worth it to fight. No one/Maximal in the entirety of Beastwars hesitates to fight her because they know she’s a dangerous warrior, except SilverBolt.

The next time we see a mention of their relationship was when BlackArachnia completely breaks character and calls him a hunk under her breathe in Season 2 Episode 6 at 14:40. This is coming from a character who is only flirtatious to deceive others. Its very out of character for her to fall for anyone, especially a maximal dog

I mostly hate their relationship because SilverBolt doesn’t respect BlackArachnia. He calls her a maximal because she is a maximal Protoform. She reminds him MULTIPLE TIMES throughout his arrival to Beastwars that she is a Predacon and wants to be referred to as so. Yet he still doesn’t respect her enough to call her one unless she threatens him. A healthy/good relationship shouldn’t have you threaten your partner for them to respect you.

What annoys me most about SilverBolt not respecting BlackArachnia by calling her a predacon. Is his persistence to get her to join the Maximals because she was reprogrammed. He wants to ‘save her’ from something she doesn’t want to/need to be saved from. Yet he doesn’t try to get Inferno, QuickStrike, or Rampage, If you want to be really specific (He was created by a maximal group of scientists to be a Pred killing machine, but he is/was a maximal war machine before being forced to be a predacon by Megatron). He never tries to save them so his argument of wanting to be a hero and save her falls apart.

He only wants to save BlackArachnia because he can’t stand the thought of liking a Predacon. Which aligns with his ‘righteous hero’ act he has. The hero can’t date the villain so he has to ‘save her’.

And his argument to converting her to be a maximal is that ‘Change is possibly because he was a predacon once’ which like- he was a predacon for less than 24 hours (it was at night when he first emerged from the pod and sunrise when he switched to being a maximal) also his argument falls apart because, by his logic, he was never a predacon because he was a maximal Protoform to begin with! So literally what is that hypercritical dog even doing?!

This makes me frustrated because he uses the same argument when Dinobot is caught after giving the Golden Disk to Megatron. SilverBolt tells Optimus to give him another chance because “I was a predacon once and you gave me a chance” dude it barely counts, you’re invalid, leave.

Before that he was bringing up Dinobot’s honor as a maximal and Dinobot States he is a Predacon and it is Predacon Honor.

If I was Dinobot I would have slapped SilverBolt across the face so hard lol

Things worsen in Season 3 when she finally joins the maximals, but reminds everyone she wishes to be called a Predacon still. SilverBolt continues to call her a Maximal despite her warnings, and constantly insists she is one. Even over small things like helping the Protohumans in S3 E4.

It all goes down hill E7: Blackarachnis over hears Primal and Rhinox discussing turning BlackArachnia back into a Maximal as she once was. Her, not liking the idea of being forced to be a maximal/being a maximal, runs away. She runs into Dinobot’s transmetal clone and chases Dinobot || through the jungle. When the clone calls her a maximal at 7:20 she states “Calling me a coward is one thing, but nobody calls me a Maximal”. Basically saying that calling her a maximal is an insult to her. SilverBolt believes she’s in trouble and goes to save her. When the threat is eliminated he makes her stay and talk to Optimus about being a maximal to clarify if the leader would do such a thing.

Primal states that the decision was always up to BlackArachnia, she wishes to stay a Predacon. But at 20:40 even after all that SilverBolt claims “We’ll make a maximal of you yet” to which she replies “In your dreams, I like myself just the way I am and I intend to stay this way”.

Basically girl boss wants to be a predacon, is that clear yet? Because it’s still not clear to SilverBolt.

LITERALLY AN EPISODE LATER, Episode 9

BlackArachnia wishes to be a Transmetal, SilverBolt disrupts the process, accidentally in his credit (though she told him not to) getting her seriously injured. She has to be taken to Rhinox to make sure she’s okay and she’s given another choice…

Be a Maximal or Die.

Taking any personal choice away from her. In SilverBolts credit he didn’t intend this, But it’s messed up to me that she’s given the illusion of choice only to be forced to be a maximal in the end.

And she does, because in a choice to be the one thing you hate or die, she chooses to live. And after that moment when she no longer has that predacon chip. First if all I don’t like her design, but that’s off topic. SilverBolt never brings up her being a maximal or predacon again.

In the end the disrespectful hypocritical dog gets what he wants.

‘Briefly’ talk about BeastMachines so spoilers for that

SilverBolt is forced to be a Vehicon by Megatron. When BlackArachnia saves him, this stupid Eagle gets all edgy and talks about how great it felt to be a Vehicon. YEAH MUST BE REAL NICE, and you’re telling that to the woman you kept trying to convert her to be a Maximal like you. Also don’t like BlackArachnia being obsessive with SilverBolt in BeastMachines because it completely 180s both of them

Can you tell I hate SilverBolt? I love his design, the fact he’s knight-like, idiot, and his voice actor, I just hate how he is with BlackArachnia

I’m okay that it’s like a star-crossed lovers thing, but don’t make one of those said lovers to gaslight the other into being the same as him when she doesn’t want to be.

Anyways that’s my take. I love Beastwars and I’m very passionate about it which is probably why I’m arguing over it (even though it has been over for years)

GUYS HE WOULD LOOK SO COOL AS A SNAKE!! Like we already have a scorpion (Scorponok love him so much) and yes we have two spiders but like cool snake/ creepy snake???

To me his normal alt mode looked too too heavy, like the snake head looks like it would be too heavy for a Scorpion to hold up properly (and yes I realize I’m over analyzing a cartoon it’s habit)

BUT if he was a snake, he can be a king cobra still, I made him a Diamond back rattle snake just because when he’s on screen there’s usual a rattle, and while yes the scorpion stinger replaces said rattle, it might still be able to make noise?? And why not throw in creepy scorpion legs.

FINISHED THE PREDACONS THESE GUYS WERE MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE TO DO!!! Silly bugs and beef cake crab I love them all so much!

I like how it starts basic and then it goes BOOM SKEKSIS LOOKING FREAK WITH BONE ARMOR!! Had to acknowledge that he is a Predacon so I gave him the little pred symbol (even though it’s derpy looking)

Then casually winter explorers, to a literally knight (he looks like a husky woopsie doodles) and a 1930s scuba diver mixed with a detective coat? What is going on I dont even know

The reason he has a black tail and mullet thing is because baby Cheetahs evolved to look like Honey badgers to protect them from Predators. And Cheetor is literally a child.

Anyways I just like drawing animals (except for Gorillas and Anthro Manta rays I guess. SERIOUSLY WHAT IS THIS UNCANNY VALLY DAD BOD HAVING APE DOING HERE?!)

Predacons are next and I’m excited

Casually changes your Dinobot and Rattrap animals. Had to change their names because- well they aren’t a Dino and a rat any more.

Chose a Cassowary for Dinobot because they are cool looking birds, powerful , big, that are like alive Dinosaurs (guess they technically are) Plus it makes the blue face make sense

Possum for Rattrap, mainly because he hung from his tail a few times. Plus it would make sense with his ‘cowardly’ act and constant ‘We’re all gonna die’ (kept little teeth sticking out because I love his Bucked teeth)

I’m not very good at making robot bodies so I basically just copied their original but switched the animals. I was also thinking of turning Dinobot into a Komodo Dragon because Komodo Dragons are sick!

I was gonna do this with Depthcharge and Primal but I can never make DepthCharge’s fish head look good so you guys are blessed with DinoTrap instead lol

I honestly think that BlackArachnia and Tarantulas would have made such a cool couple if they didn’t write them creepy (not talking- fun silly Tarantulas creepy)

Cause I can see Tarantulas being oblivious to Blackarachnia flirting with him because he’s a smart guy but he isn’t smart with social interactions

They could have made a fun; partners in crime dynamic, “we’re gonna destroy Megatron and scheme together” type vibe

They don’t even have to be partners, I would’ve been happy with them just being friends and BlackArachnia could be a single girl boss (cause it makes sense with her Beastmode anyway)

I just feel like Tarantulas would have been a better option than the transphobic hypocrite sexist SilverBolt (if you couldn’t tell I personally don’t like that guy)

Speaking of, SilverBolt’s character would have been so much better if he didn’t like BlackArachnia. If he just treated her like everyone else instead of only sparring her because she’s the only woman he’s ever seen. Cause he doesn’t and it’s just really weird and it also completely 180s BlackArachnia’s character. She goes from just vibing to like “man that wolf bot is pretty hot, right?”. Not only that but she lets that man disrespect her?

I absolutely hate how SilverBolt calls BlackArachnia a maximal despite her telling him not to. She literally says that she rather be called dumb than a maximal. That’s how much she hates it. And SilverBolt’s whole logic is “well you were born a maximal so you are one” but he doesn’t say the same thing for Dinobot (predacon Allied with maximals) or QuickStrike, Inferno, Rampage (he was made by maximals to be an immortal predacon killing machine). He only says it to BlackArachnia. I personally think it’s because he can’t grapple the fact he likes a predacon. He’s a noble type character so it seems like he wouldn’t fall for the enemy?

Not only that but he’s a total hypocrite. He’s also a maximal Protoform. But he brings up how he was a predacon for a little bit every time ‘BlackArachnia being a Predacon’ topic comes up. Saying garbage like “I was a predacon, and you forgave me” LIKE NO YOU WERENT! He said that quote about DINOBOT. THE MECH WHOSE BEEN A PREDACON HIS WHOLE LIFE! Meanwhile SilverBolt was a predacon for less than 6 HOURS (assuming he woke up from stasis at midnight and when he switched it was sunrise) and the whole time he complained about it!

Hate that dog so much omg

What makes it worse is that in Season 3 HE GETS WHAT HE WANTS! BlackArachnia almost dies because he went to intervene after being told not to. The only way to save her was getting rid of the predacon chip WHICH SHE WASNT HAPPY ABOUT! Then she is turned into a maximal and the topic is never brought back up again!

AND THIS WAS LIKE 2 EPISODES AFTER SHE DECIDED SHE DIDNT WANT THE PRED CHIP REMOVED BECAUSE SHE WAS HAPPY WHO SHE WAS!

And I know his whole character is the ‘knight in shiny armor’ and he’s purposely dumb. But you can have a fun dumb character that STILL RESPECTS HIS GOTH GIRLFRIEND

✨Back to Regularly scheduled Rant✨

Like yes, BlackArachnia flirted a lot with Tarantulas (which was also uncomfortable, at least for me) but based off her line near the end of season 1, something like “it could be kind of romantic snuggled up close” (not the exact quote but the jest of it) when talking about getting in an escape pod made from a stasis pod. She probably, MIGHT have at least liked him a little? Cause if she is manipulating him it doesn’t make any sense.

When she first started to flirt with Tarantulas, she never gained anything from it. They literally just got Inferno. She said she wanted to make the Protoform serve her to help overthrow Megatron and that she would ‘make a better ruler’. But in doing so she’s also helping Tarantulas get rid of Megatron. Working together and what not. Tarantulas doesn’t want to lead, that isn’t his goal. When given the option to command the predacons by Terrorsaur (S1 EP6) he just left. He put scorponok in charge and went to see where Terrorsaur got his power from. But also the whole ‘flirting’ or whatever she’s doing doesn’t make Tarantulas like her, so if that’s the goal for her manipulation it doesn’t work. She just convinced this guy to get a stasis pod that he was already going to get

Tarantulas is running his own agenda anyway, he has no interest in whatever the other predacons are doing. He’s just a spy for the Predacon Peace Alliance. I think it would have been so cool if BlackArachnia helped him. They are basically just the same character but BlackArachnia is a girl boss and Tarantulas is a nerd.

They would have made a cool spider duo that just schemes together

Why am I ranting about a show that already ended when it isn’t that big of a deal? Because I’m Obsessed lol

Anyway, that’s just my take/rant. I would love to hear people’s thoughts and opinions on this (if you want to of course)

Okay so I haven’t seen anyone talk about this (maybe someone has and I just haven’t seen it?)

But Botanica before her Plant mode was 100% just DepthCharge’s model without his wings

So that raises questions and theories

Either they just reused DepthCharge’s mode before he scanned a manta ray (because it was dark and you couldn’t see it anyway) to save money. Or if it’s not the same model then why not change the head shape?

OR Botanica is literally related to Depthcharge in some way

And if that’s the case that means Rattrap is dating his dead friend’s sister/relative?

Granted Rattrap has amnesia in BeastMachines so maybe he forgot about Depthcharge or just doesn’t know Botanica is related to him.

In some way though either DepthCharge believed Botanica was dead or vise versa or maybe they both believed the other was dead

So my theory is Botanica and DepthCharge are related in some way (maybe twins/siblings) and neither know the other is alive, and also Rattrap doesn’t realize Botanica is Depthcharge’s sibling/relative
