happy birthday @gayfandomblog/@carrotlesbian ! we first became mutuals years ago because of Korrasami. we both shipped Destiel back in the day, quit the show after/during season 9, and moved on to LOK where we were treated with canon Korrasami!!!!

there are similarities b/w these relationships with regards to their chemistry and devotion towards each other, which made them very popular among fans u__U and it was amazing to see the creators fight to make Korrasami cannon and validate their LGBT fans. just a year before, Jensen Ackles was yelling at a bisexual fan for asking him if maybe Dean could be bisexual (and he has not changed since lmao). while i’d always be ‘cool’ with a last minute Destiel confirmation in a similar vein to the Korrasami ending, i’ve come to realize that we won’t even get something like that. still, I think Destiel and the q-coding in Dean and Cas’s characters was something many young lgbt fans gravitated towards, even if it was just baiting or a joke. our interpretations of Dean and Cas were good interpretations. we’ll just have to grab all the goodness we accidentally found in that show and spread it around elsewhere :3c !!
