I have this Deltarune Ralsusie AU planned where the Roaring happens and Ralsei confesses his love to Susie before dying in her arms. Susie, with the knife Kris had given to her, travels back in time to save Ralsei. Once she realizes that she loves him too, she makes it her primary goal, doing anything in her power to save him from the final tragedy.
She would do anything to find a way to rewrite history and to save the one she cares about the most, even if it means sacrificing her own character growth in the process.
The inciting incident takes place during a WR save, so Susie's attachment to Ralsei is even more Not Healthy. She also doesn't trust Kris or Noelle, but she also doesn't want to confront them both about anything (and would they even know she went back in time? They would not believe her in the slightest, she thinks).
The AU was thought up pre chapter 5 release, but the ch5 release actually adds a lot to my AU (thanks Toby you saved me on some plot points /silly)
This is heavily inspired by Madoka Magica, and also has "be careful what you wish for" elements in it.
The title I think will be called "A Girl with Hope".

Oh hey I had an idea similar to this WAYYYY back when (chapter 3&4 release). Not really one specific thing but more of a general formless idea of "Ralsei and Susie time travel to stop the weird route." Unfortunately I could never quite figure out the mechanics of the character interactions and who was doing what so it will likely never see the light of day. Some of the interactions between the older and younger versions of Ralsei and Susie still live in my head... even if none of the ages made any real sense...
do people still talk about the heteronormative interpretation of the weird route here on tumblr? i see it every other day on twitter, because chapter 5 kicked up the discourse again. seeing so much of it inspired me to Finally organize my thoughts on why i dont think it's a good reading of the route w/ both the current state of the game and how the fandom portrays it.
anyway, with that i arranged a whole diagram explaining my thought process, but im kind of deathly afraid to post it to twitter atm because of how intense people are over there about adamantly insisting that the player goes out of their way to Male-Code Kris. i'll share it soon, because i think people (on twitter especially) need to see a comprehensive explanation of a different perspective... but i suppose i just am curious to know how people on here feel about it, at least as of recently, if chapter 5 changed how you feel about the weird route and any relationship it has to heteronormativity. (genuinely Hate to bring that relatively contained discourse back over here but i feel like people on tumblr are a bit more tame about it(?) (?) i hope? iirc? please)
This was originally going to be a comment but it got too long and I need paragraph breaks. My (not so) brief thoughts under the cut.
Heteronormative Weird Route has some interesting bits of analysis, but it's all mostly surface level and especially falls apart after chapter 5. Noelle is a subversion of the typical "Girl next door" trope; Kris being her neighbor and all. However. Given that the weird route is about her breaking out of that set role, and doing something crazy, and that "hetronormativity" doesn't really seem to be the part of the trope that DELTARUNE is interested in playing with--instead focusing on the stasis and loneliness Noelle feels--I don't think it's a particularly deep or interesting reading.
Kris's relationship with Noelle is kind of weird--for lack of a better word--in both routes; I'd hardly call it conventional in any sense of the word. That's not even mentioning Kris. In chapter 2 and even in chapter 4 to some extent, it seemed as though we where overwriting Kris and Noelle's personalities (there were hints of this not being the case, but it was an understandable interpretation). In chapter 5, it seems much more like we are forcing them to act on their intrusive thoughts.
Overall, it feels like really weird ship discourse framed as analysis, one step away from "Kriselle is heteronormative." Plus it feels like a lot of the evidence boils down to "WR is abusive and controlling; therefore inherently male," which is really gross. I have other thoughts, but at the risk of going even further into general weird route analysis territory, I won't air them out here.

I do still wonder about why all the flowers wanted to be human outside of Anime gajinka, and why (mainly aqua) referred to all 3 fun gang members as human too...
It probably has something to do with how being human == protagonist in ut/dr. Like, obviously there are other humans that aren't the main characters, but the only ones we see are the player characters. Therefore, in a slightly weird meta sense, the flowers aren't exactly incorrect.
Since Flowery is, for all intents and purposes, a fake protagonist, it makes sense for him specifically to be a human.
For the other flowers–outside of the protagonism themes and undertale connections–they seem to be imbued with aspects of Kris. It could also partially come from Kris's feeling of loneliness and Asgore's desire to combat that.

I forgot If I ever mentioned this, but it's pretty interesting to me, that Tenna's damage in the light world actually gets reduced If Susie fixes him Up, because that's such a huge indicator of dark World being real in some Form and Not Just an illusion
my current theory is a little weird and hard to explain, but I don't know if calling the Dark Worlds 'illusions' is fully accurate.
Unnecessarily long explanation below.
Ralsei first calls them "An alternate view of reality through the lens of shadow." Now, I don't know if I'm alone in this, but that doesn't really scream "illusion" to me. First of all, alternate implies some level of equivalence, but that's pretty weak evidence
What especially leaps out at me, is the "alternate view" part. It reminds me of–bare with me–reinterpret casts in programming.
The non-technical summary is that data on a computer is all of the same type; binary. Binary data can, however be interpreted in a lot of different ways. A signed floating point number and an unsigned integer could both be 64 bits, but what they mean is different.
Some data types can have multiple valid interpretations. For example, an ascii character is also an 8-bit (technically 7 depending on implementation but shhh) number.
So, basically, Dark Worlds and their Light World counterparts both share the same underlying data, interpreted in a different way. So, when Berdly hurts his arm, that's because taking damage in the Dark World changed his information in the same way that getting his arm paralysed would in the Light World.
TLDR: Dark World is a different way of seeing the world, meaning that actions in the dark world do happen, but don't correspond to the exact same things.
The one problem with this theory is that... Darkness seems to correspond to things getting more indistinct, which doesn't quite reconcile properly with the idea that Dark Worlds are reading the same data.
My personal headcanon is that Dark Worlds make things so indistinct that anything can happen, but like. What's happening still gets reflected in the light world.
Imagine it like the Darkness stretching out the data of the light world, and filling in the gaps. The Light World data still exists and can be changed by stuff happening in the dark worlds.
Anyway I am not good at communicating theories, so if this doesn't make sense to anyone that's probably because it doesn't.
