One sided Malleus x reader. Implied Sebek x reader. Lilia reliving his youth. Trying to relearn to write. Hope you enjoy!
Turning to face him, Lillia’s features soften. Malleus had never admitted to being in love before. He had ‘crushes’ when he was a kid, as many young people do when they are not fully sure what emotions they are feeling. But Malleus’ is grown now, and although he doesn't have much experience with friends, he could guess whether a string of emotions might be more than platonic. It made the old fae giddy at the thought.
“When one knows, you get a warm feeling in your chest at the sight. You think things you never thought of before. And you want to act in a way you never acted. Love brings in ethereal waves of emotions-”.
“Such as, having the desire to be with a person every moment of the day and then onward to the night.” Malleus’ gaze didn't meet Lilia’s. Almost as if this conversation wasn't revealing his variability, one where they weren't taking a peek at heart’s desires.
There was a moment of silence that spread over the two. Lilia could hear the light snores of Sliver, already lulled to sleep by the setting sun. And not too far away, he could hear the laughter and screams of the group of first years fighting or playing by a large tree. Three of them were up in the branches with a cat, while the other four set up both a camera and a phone to take a photo of some kind.
“Lilia,” The young face called out again, his voice just as soft, but not as stiff as before. There was sorrow in his voice. One that he can't properly convey into words. “What do I do if the person I love, loves another…”
Once Lilia turned back to watch Malleus, and his gaze caught his, a dreaded feeling fell to his stomach. “And what do you do if your beloved loves someone else you love?”
Lilia turned to face the group of teens, whether it was his instinct to stand guard over his prince during his vital moment. Or the pain and fear of seeing himself in the child he raised and shelters.
At this point, almost all the freshmen were in the tree. All of them spit between three branches. Sebek was on one of the lower ones, between him and the trunk was the magicless prefect with Grim in their hold. The minimal orange light from the sun provided a perfect backdrop for a scenic photo. If Lilia looked closely, then he could see Sebek's arm branches the back of the prefect, although a safety message so they don't fall, there was a hint of softness as he proudly scolds for whatever reason.
“This would be such a nice memory,” Lilia thought, knowing words and memories that he would have liked to believe only he would ever feel. “If only it wouldn't be damaged by the splotches of juvenile love and remorse…”
A princess with the fairest of hair and eyes full of jewels, and a boy of hopeless ignorance and idiocy who brings a certain charm and adoration.
“If you love both of them, then you will support both of them. No matter their decision…”
