It appears as though the hatchet job on Louis has a centralized source: Bauer Media. 

Here’s all the Bauer connections to date:

Heat -  Published the story about Liam “shoving” Louis on stage that Liam called out on Twitter, and the amazing false article about Harry’s girlfriend “Joy” from earlier this year that they then doubled down on despite being called out as fake

Channel 4 -  The network that aired Crazy about One Direction documentary that mocked fans and fan art

Magic FM - The radio station where Liam “confirmed” in a weirdly edited interview that Louis is having a baby with B.   

Attitude - A regular columnist named Joe Stone retweeted Dan’s hilarious last hatchet job article and added he “loves Harry for hating Louis,” and supported the person who wrote the article on Debrief. Attitude Magazine was the publication that did the Liam interview where he said Louis was seeing someone, Larry wasn’t real, rainbows shouldn’t be at One Direction shows, etc.

Grazia - The same Joe Stone also writes for a magazine called Grazia owned by Bauer Media.

Debrief - Sophie Wilkinson, a contributor to the blog, is a long-time Louis hater who wrote a poorly conceived article explaining how Louis ruined One Direction and Larry isn’t real because Louis is too homophobic for it to be plausible.

Life & Style - Wrote this recent article about Briana wanting money from Louis, saying he broke her heart by getting with Danielle, this article from August saying Briana wanted Louis to propose, and amazingly this article from April 2015 saying Harry was definitely going solo.

M Magazine - Part of the Bauer Teen media group, this shitty magazine wrote this gem painting Louis as an insensitive asshole who neglects Briana and his unborn child.

One of the recognized strategies of manipulation through media messaging is the use of a centralized information source and a top down flow of that information.

What’s the link to Syco?

“Hardy, who spearheaded Sony Music’s marketing strategy, will report to Paul Keenan, the chief executive of Bauer Media.”

“Prior to his position at Sony Music, Hardy was the marketing director for Simon Cowell-owned Syco Entertainment, where he presided over the global launch of the pop group, One Direction. The band was the first British group to debut at number one in the US album chart.”

So there’s a direct link from Syco to Sony to Bauer Media who is repeatedly delivering the same 3 anti-Louis message points consistently through multichannel sources on both sides of the pond:

Louis is irresponsible, unlikable,  heterosexual trash who knocked up a woman

Louis is an insensitive asshole who abandoned that woman to be with another woman

Larry isn’t real

In May 2014, they published an excrutiatingly homophobic article in their magazine, titled “Harry Tormented by Rude Rumors” where they took a handful of quotes from 2012 out of context and tried to emotionally blackmail their young readers into never speculating about that topic, because Harry and Louis weren’t friends any more because of the ‘gay rumours.’

(It’s worth noting that after an extensive complaint campaign was mounted in response to the the article, the Editor-in-chief gave a tepid-non-apology excuse for the motive of the piece, but said “I do admit though that the story failed to really explore some larger issues, and that the readership deserves more on this topic from us.” They also didn’t publish the article on their website.)

J-14 also routinely treated Eleanor like she was the celebrity in that ‘relationship’ and towards the end of Elounor, wrote about Louis’ “disheveled appearance” and encouraged their readers to speculate about whether he was going “too far” with his tattoos. 

More recently, when they published an account of the “Fly High, Buddy” story, it was under the headline “OMG: A Fan Is Upset With The Bad Press Louis Tomlinson Gets”, as if that is even remotely an appropriate headline for an article about a child who passed away from an incurable cancer. After they received numerous angry tweets from us, they changed it to “Harvey Hext’s Mother Defends Louis Tomlinson Against Bad Press.”

And lastly, as we speak, “FLASHBACK FRIDAY: 9 Photos of Briana Jungwirth That Prove She Looks Exactly Like Her Mom” is literally the headline article on their website. Like A) she is any kind of celebrity, and B) awkward, old tween photos of a boybander’s “pregnant” “one-night stand” is the biggest thing in celebrity news right now.
