𝙎𝙀𝘼𝙎𝙊𝙉 𝙊𝙉𝙀 (𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙡𝙨) ⭑.ᐟ i think that most people would probably expect a show like this to be very dark and gritty but i think my version would be more fun, focusing on characters and their teenage experiences with the mystery serving to drive the plot forward

episode 1 જ⁀➴ pilot

cassie's wired earphones are playing purple rain by prince as wipes down the counter of the diner she works at. when michael walks in the music abruptly fades to instrumental background as she takes out the earphones. once he leaves, cassie reads the business card he left behind and the lyrics "i only want to see you laughing in the purple rain, purple rain, purple rain" end the scene.

episode 2 જ⁀➴ there is more than meets the eye

b2b by charli xcx plays in the background of the entire scene. the editing is choppy and on beat with the music, and there is almost like a record scratch stop when cassie tells the group about her mom. eventually lia picks up her phone and the music starts again. there are some diabolical cuts between michael and lia when she dares cassie and dean to kiss, with the outro playing right at the kiss before the cut to black.

episode 3 જ⁀➴ agents of free will

when sloane decides to hack into the fbi databases lucky by renee rapp plays as a montage of the naturals piecing together each part of the puzzle and making sense of the case files. this is the point where they kinda hit flow state and begin working as a team. files and pictures are piled on top of each other and there are zoom in shots into small details. important words are underlined or highlighted and this is the scene where we get a peek into how the naturals' brains work.

episode 4 જ⁀➴ killer on the loose

the episode opens with cassie opening the box sent by the killer. when cassie opens it, she sees the the lock of red hair and takes a sharp breath in. she looks up at the others and psycho killer by talking heads beings to play, specifically the "fa, fa, fa, far better, run, run, run, better run away" part before the cut to opening credits.

episode 5 જ⁀➴ kola and thorn

we get disjointed cuts between genevieve and cassie as she tries to recreate what happened to her. theres a very chopped up and reverbed version of kiss me thru the phone by soulja boy playing throughout the scene and the harmonies kick in when dean's hands land on cassie's waist and cut off when he hastily removes them.

episode 6 જ⁀➴ life or death

when cassie realises that theres a mole in the fbi, prey by the neighbourhood begins to play "something is off i feel like prey, i feel like praying" and she rushes to the bathroom to call locke. the camera locks onto cassie and the rest of the world appears to sway and swirl as she panics. there is a reprise of the outro "i dont wanna fight, i dont want a fight" right after she blows off michael to go with dean.

end credits scene ⋆✴︎˚｡⋆

michael tells cassie to figure out how she feels about dean, and that he'll be there waiting, and we get a wide shot of him outside as heartbreak girl by 5 seconds of summer plays. we cut to cassie entering the house and dean smiling up at her as she sits down and starts talking to him. we get to cut to sloane and lia sprawled across lias bedroom, each doing their own thing as the song blasts from a boombox. judd calls all the kids for lunch and the season ends with a shot of all of them around the dinner table laughing.

It is my moral duty to remind you that somewhere in the depths of Lia Zhang's heart, she would have remembered her mother and questioned what her mother's fate would be after seeing Lorelai's fate. That the whole cult would have made her relive her past.

It is also time to remind everyone that Lia Zhang has no clue where her mom is. Ever since she escaped the cult at age 12, for all she knows, her mom could be dead.

Lia gets jealous more often but Michael is worse when he gets jealous

Michael is the one who taught Lia how to drive. They snuck out once without Judd knowing to do it.

Lia loves to steal Michael's shirts and hoodies for sleep. Michael pretends to complain about his missing clothes, but he secretly likes watching her wear them.

Lia consults Michael's opinions for some outfits but doesn't listen to him if he doesn't agree with her.

Michael has helped Lia dye her hair before. It turned out worse than when she did it alone.

If Lia comes into his room and Michael is sleeping, she takes certain pleasure in waking him up in the loudest, most chaotic way possible

They both get into endless prank wars with each other that gets progressively worse with time and only stop when Judd makes them

When they can't sleep, Michael takes them out on a late night drive

They've done a fake proposal in public before just for fun

Lia fell asleep on Michael's shoulder once after a particularly long case and Michael didn't move her but when she woke up he teased her relentlessly for it.

Lia and Michael both share airpods (they made a collective playlist together for it) on many occasions such as flights or in the car

No words are spoken when Lia knocks on his door at 3:00 AM after a bad dream, even when they're off. Michael just lifts the blanket, moves over, and lets her crawl in next to him.

Lia is one of the few people who can successfully ragebait Michael and she exploits this fact all too often.

Lia often steals Michael's favorite cereal (even though she doesn't like it that much) just to annoy him

They sneak out to go clubbing together just the two of them (normally ends up with them making out after)

When Lia is too drunk and tired to walk in her heels, Michael piggybacks her the way home.

For Christmas, Lia specifically sends Michael a separate wish list from the others of the most expensive items she wants.

Michael and Lia once took a trip to Asia together (funded by Michael)

Lia had to train Michael on how to take good pictures for her

Michael secretly took a few pictures of Lia sleeping (that she doesn't know about) bc he thought she looks soft when she sleeps

They have a running game where they pick a target for the day—like Briggs—and turn it into a competition to see who can trigger the biggest meltdown. Michael started this game.

Yes,it’s the truth, but it was also a very vague truth, yes he does love her longer and better, because he loves her as a sister, as family.

It was such an asshole move because he knew that she was gonna know that was the truth and without her knowing what he was referring to it was obviously gonna hurt her, and he knew it.

But at the same time, it was the truth… so it was the truth that also loves Lia, just not the same way he loves Celine. And sometimes when we get hurt, it blinds us from the whole picture. That’s exactly what Michael accomplished with the wording of that statement.
