Holidays?
We stayed in LA for Christmas this year. The first time in my entire life I’ve ever been away from home for Christmas. It was the strangest feeling and I probably won’t ever do that again because I love my family too much.
Aside from that.. being in LA and in a pretty standard routine along with 4 day weekends meant I went to a bunch of classes! Boxing (every Saturday now as usual) and then 3 Orangetheory classes this week!
I went to an OTF class on CHRISTMAS EVE. I mean wow. Talk about a weird Christmas Eve.
And then I went to another OTF class the day after Christmas and that was BRTUAL because I was hungover from drinking on Christmas Day. After making it through that workout hungover.. today’s OTF class felt like a breeze 🤣 I finally wore my monitor to class today, too which was awesome! It automatically starts when your class starts and you can track yourself on the screens in class! SO AMAZING! These were today’s stats:

Orangetheory Fitness/Boxing
Well i’ve finally done what I was working towards which is being able to get up earlier so that I could go do fitness classes before work! Now it’s become a norm for me to be up and off to a class at least 3 times a week and I LOVE it. I’ve just been forcing myself to jump out of bed and do it and finally my body caught on!
I’m in love with Orangetheory fitness classes AND my boxing classes. I feel like I found what works for me and these are now my things. They keep me motivated, they’re challenging, and they’re interesting to me. So yes I can safely say that i’ll stick with these.
But my diet has been terrible and I know that. So after class today I ran to Trader Joes and bought a bunch of things and prepped veggies, fruits and whatnot for work.
With the holidays and constant parties and work being INSANE the past couple months.. i’ve been terrible with eating well so i’m just going to try and be more conscious and make an effort because now i’m realizing that I won’t see much of a change without eating healthy and with the amount of work I put into workouts I want to actually benefit from everything all over.
That’s what’s going on over here!

People have needs and relationship have needs. They needs love, communication, trust, nurturing, compassion, and hard work. I learned that the hard way but you know what? It’s worth it. Orangetheory Fitness!
I signed up for a months worth of classes (well.. 8 classes total) for Orangetheory Fitness after trying one out and loving it.
I went only once last week and then boxed on saturday
THIS week I made it a goal to go Tuesday and Thursday and i DID IT. Even thought we’ve been so insanely busy at work this week I actually was able to get my ass up and out of bed early to class both days.
I love the classes. It’s always different each time, you’re never bored, and you work yourself out like crazy. Class goes by so fast! It’s honestly wonderful. But Saturdays will always be dedicated to boxing. I want to do boxing a second day of the week, too, soon in the future.
But right now i’m slowly trying to get up earlier and actually do shit. So Tuesday/Thursday Orangetheory classes and Saturday boxing classes are a good start.
I feel very sore, which is great! The rowing machine is amazing and I love the HIIT we do on the treadmill. Will definitely try to stay disciplined and keep at this

I got my ass up and went to my second Orange Theory Fitness class this morning and damn it was killer! I’m honestly just proud of waking up and going at all because as someone who works night shift that’s hard for me to do unless I’m meeting someone (because then I can’t flake on them) but THIS time I did it on my own! I have 2 months membership for OTF right now and this is my second class. I’d ideally like to go every Tuesday & Thursday and then continue Boxing classes on Saturdays (which has been my regular lately every Saturday. It’s the BEST way to start my weekend omg) 👍🏻 Also a photo of dinner (whatever’s left in the freezer kinda day)
Day 6: Leg Day (Level 1)
Woke up this morning and made sure to get right to it with my workout! My legs were burrrrrning by the end of the workout and I was sweatin’. I felt a bit stronger though and I think it’s safe to say the rest day was good for me.
I’m off now though on my calendar. I should’ve been doing abs/arms today.
I may go to the gym tonight after work and make today a double day to catch up to be in sync with my calendar OR.. I will workout tomorrow and sunday instead of resting on Sunday.
It all depends on how I feel tonight and if we even get out on time from work (it hasn’t been happening)

Day 5: REST (by choice)
On Wednesday night I came home and legit drank like an entire bottle of red wine because it had been a really stressful day/week (even though it was only halfway through) and I just wanted to. I was going to only have a glass or 2 but it went down really easily that night lmao
I thought we’d actually get out of work on time last night but alas we did not so I was too exhausted to do my workout last night after work and also still felt a bit sore. So instead I took it upon myself to have a rest day. I had worked out 5 days in a row so it was time anyways.
I ate pretty okay but definitely could’ve had more vegetables and an overall better dinner.
Day 4: 100 Push-up Challenge
HAH!
That did not happen today. My arms are so sore from the past few days that I could barely do 3 push-ups without feeling intense pain. So NOPE.
Instead for today’s workout I ran 2 miles and then did a brisk 10 minute cooldown.

Day 3: Arms & Abs (Level 1)
Forgot to post this yesterday but I did the Arms & Abs workout when I woke up in the morning! Ran half a mile as a wam-up before.
Some of the moves were harder than others and I can’t believe how weak I am that I have to use my knees during push-up type exercises!
I am sore all over.
Day 2: Leg Day level 1
Woke up at like 1030am! And I couldn’t really fall back asleep which is fine because I figured it was a good time to drink water, wake myself up and get my first workout done!
Leg day level 1 was 18 minutes of 6 different moves in 3 circuits. It burned and I was sweating. My body is still sore from yesterday and the HIIT workout I did on Saturday.
I tried to make a smoothie with the pea protein powder a different way and it tasted a lot better. I also only added ONE scoop instead of 2 which helps.
Ideally I’d like to wake up and workout before anything because they say working out in a fasted state is actually better for you.

Day 1 (Check-in)
I have decided to try out this Total Body Guide 30 day plan where you have a workout for every day. I wanted to try something new and structured so that I know what to do each day and this is it!
Day 1 is a “check-in” day where you have 2 minutes for each exercise and you see how many you can do of it in that 2 minutes.
2 minutes of pushups: 35 done 2 minutes of burpees: 20 done 2 minutes of thrusters: 25 done 2 minutes of full sit-ups: 35 done
my arms were KILLING ME IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE PUSH UPS. WTF.
before the check-in I ran a quick mile with a 5 minute cool down.
I bought a bunch of healthy things at Trader Joes and I got pea protein powder and made a smoothie bowl with frozen strawberries, the protein powder, and a teaspoon of almond butter and chia seeds
It’s the most disgusting thing i’ve ever tasted. ever. omg. i’m literally gagging eating it. I can’t finish it.
THIS IS WHAT I GET FOR TRYING NEW THINGS.

Not proud of how mindless I was Saturday AND Sunday with the wine and food but I’m holding myself accountable for it because I did it 🤷♀️
Gettin back on track today with food. I would’ve gone to the gym but I have to be at work early tomorrow and my legs are just still a bit weak from Friday nights workout 😫

Lots of veggies and good proteins! I’ve been actually tracking my calories this week because I figured I’d give it a shot.. and I’m realizing I was eating way more than I should have been all along without realizing it 😐 So it turns out tracking calories is a good idea for the moment.
