babe, your mic is cutting out (ch 40/?) - rosquez [e]
“I would prove it to you if I could.”
“You can’t,” Valentino answers quickly. He takes a sip of wine to mask the sharpness of it, but Marc’s already dabbing at the cut.
“I know.” Marc does his best to keep his voice measured. He finds himself tugging at his ear, nervous. “Y’know, there can be a million reasons why something doesn’t win a Grammy.”
Valentino stares into the middle distance as Marc takes a drink. “It should have.” His face is tight.

Some highlights from Marc's "Question of the Week" segment on his blog (2015-2016)
How did you get the scar on your eyebrow? Was it from riding motorcycles, or was it long before that? Well, I've had this scar since I was 8 years old. But it wasn't from a motorcycle accident, I got it riding a mountain bike!
Which athlete do you admire most and why? The athlete I admire most is Rafa Nadal, for his physical and mental strength, as well as being an example for everyone.
Aside from the underwear thing, do you have any other superstitions? Apart from what you mentioned about underwear, the truth is, no. I couldn't tell you anything else. I do have a habit, which is to always get on the motorcycle from the left. But that's it, a habit; I don't do it out of superstition.
Do you like to cook? If so, what's your signature dish? I'm not a huge fan, probably because I don't practice enough and I've always had my mother at home. She's a great cook and my favorite dish has always been arròs caldós (a type of rice stew). If I tried to make it myself, I don't think it would turn out the same, hahaha.
When did you finally add the ant to your helmet to make it your symbol? In which race? In 2012. It was at the Moto2 Catalan GP. Afterwards, I decided that could be the helmet for MotoGP.
How old were you when you started studying English? That's an interesting question… I have to remember. I think it was when I started primary school, around age 5. The truth is, when the World Championship came around, at 14, I really had to get serious about my English.
more under the cut
Do you like to read? Do you have a favorite book that has made a lasting impression on you? I like books about athletes because they often convey examples of personal achievement that are very motivating and inspiring. Of the last ones I read, I really enjoyed Kilian Jornet's book.
Is there ever a time when motorcycles aren't on your mind? Like everyone else, I sometimes like to disconnect, be with my friends, and talk about other things. Like anyone my age. But it's also true that my "job" demands many hours of my time, and naturally, I'm focused on it for a large part of the year. But the truth is, I consider myself very lucky, since I dedicate myself to what I love most, to what is my great passion, so for me it's a privilege to be able to spend so many hours a year thinking about motorcycles, as you say.
Where do you see yourself in ten years time [from June 2016]? Will you still be in MotoGP, or do you think you’ll eventually tire of it? Hmm… Well ten years is a long time to think ahead, but I hope to still be working with the same enthusiasm that I’ve always had. If my team and I are still together and still have the drive to keep going, that would be a good sign.
If you didn’t have #93, what other number would you wear and why? I couldn’t race with any number other than #93. It’s the year I was born and I’ve worn it since my very first races. If I didn’t change even when I was World Champion…I wouldn’t change it ever.
Would you like to try out an extreme sport like skydiving or paragliding, or do you prefer to keep your feet firmly on the ground? I've thought about it many times but I've never “taken the leap” ha ha ha. To be honest, I don't dare…the track is exciting enough for me! But you never know, I never rule anything out!
If you could choose any MotoGP pilot on Playstation, who would you choose and why? What circuits would you ride with him? That’s a good question, ha, ha, ha. For the circuit, I would choose Circuit of the Americas (Austin, USA) and for the pilot, I would be myself. Because I am very good at it.
What do you think you’ve improved on this year [2016] in MotoGP? I think that what I’ve improved on the most this year has been managing the championship better. I’ve been less impulsive and more meticulous in some Grand Prix.
Which do you like best…sweets or chocolate? Haha…these questions just get better and better! Well, my favourite is…sweets! I’ll also let you in on a secret, I often eat a few during GP weekends.

Like I said, their relationship in 2019 was already pretty weird
and yet here we were, seeing Vale chatting with Marc with a smile on his face at the press conference 🤔
