“I’m great”… I most likely say lying

“I’m good”… a inch closer to the truth

“I’m okay”… my typical response

“I’m struggling”… okay. Almost there

“I’m on the floor in a pool of my own tears because all I can feel is this pain in my chest and it won’t go away”…. there we go. The truth. Was that so hard?

I think so many people lie about how they are feeling because people don’t know how to respond…

I thought that I’d never get the chance to feel those butterflies dance again. But every time I look into your eyes, they remember what it’s like to fly.

One by one they gain their wings and match their flutter to my heartbeat.

I Don’t Know

I don’t know how many times I can say I’m fine to myself in the mirror as the tears roll down my face. I don’t know how many times I can say I’m fine when somebody texts me and asks me what what’s wrong. I don’t know how many times I can say I’m fine when my heart is literally breaking and I’m crying into my pillow at night so nobody can hear me. How long is it going to take before I can finally…
