Story

Reine is an ordinary schoolgirl whose life has been rough recently. Still, she remains optimistic and faces each day with hope. 

One rainy night, she is approached by Ruaridh, a mystical stranger who tells her she is the Saviour that can help them defeat the evil Emperor taking over his world. Agreeing, she lets herself get whisked away into a magical land aptly called “Fantasia” - but wait, she swears she’s heard of this kind of story before… 

During her journey through this magical world, she meets Varron, a no-nonsense knight who plays by his own rules; Alaric, the gentlemanly crown prince; and Sorley, the feisty guardian with a sharp tongue, and makes many new friends. Will she succeed in her magical quest? Will she find love? 

Or will she be brutally murdered, alone and friendless, in this fantasy land riddled with dangers? 

Play as Reine, an unremarkable girl with bad luck. Only you can determine her fate in this mysterious land that seems to want something from you.

A long time ago, three magical beings discovered our barren land. They were the original Rose, Roulette, and Reverence. 

Rose, a gentle lady with a heart of gold, enriched our world with nature, water and life. 

Roulette, a dignified gentleman with a solemn demeanor, balanced that out with the conflicting elements of metal, fire and death. 

And finally, Reverence created everything – humans, architecture, society, magic – by manipulating these elements that the two created.

Siobhan is Sorley's personal attendant. A prim-and-proper, polite girl who never speaks out of turn. She is actually Sorley’s older sister, but due to her lack of magical potential, she has been passed over in favor of her brother for the succession as the next Guardian.

I know it's been six years since the last update, so this project might seem dead. The good news is that this is rather the opposite - I'm actually working on writing up the final (true ending) path. I can't promise this game will be out very soon, but I do hope that I will soon be in a position to start commissioning art, music, and posting more significant asset updates. 

This project has been progressing very slowly for various reasons. For those who've been following me from the start when I first started making games like RE: Prince of Nigeria and Crimson Rafflesia, I was just a high schooler then making games as a creative outlet as a teenager. Since then, much has happened in my life: I became an adult, I went to college, I went to professional school, and became a standard, long-hours, office-worker. More professional and personal commitments came up that I had no time to spend on my hobbies from before. 

But I didn't want to give up on the ideas that I had from before, so here I am again, determined to make sure that I get Fantasy Euthanasia done, whatever it takes. This will be my first big completed game, so I am super excited. It currently stands at about 300,000 words, so this should be a pretty sizable visual novel, and hopefully an engaging story. 

I wasn't going to post much until I've actually completed the game, but when I logged into Itch.io again this morning, I was so surprised and touched to see that even till this day, I was still receiving downloads and donations for my game. I had forgotten that there were still people who wanted to see my work, and were waiting for it. 

I hope the fans who've been following me are happy to see that this is still in progress.

This week, we introduce Emrys and Ruaridh! 

Emrys (above) is the goofy older cousin of Lord Sorley. He is a businessman and innkeeper by trade. Carefree and funny, he is nonetheless a bit of a secretive figure. Nobody can really tell what he is up to at any given time.
