It sounds like this could work as an absurdist satire. Like The Invention Of Lying or Idiocracy. But the author and directer were too inept and spineless to take it to that point.

No natural part of the human body regularly needs cutting and trimming, it gets worn down in natural use. Sure your nails would grow absurdly long if you never cut them if you never use your hands or feet for anything, but if you're out there doing hunter-gatherer shit 24/7 year round then as far as I've understood they get worn down to reasonable length from just natural use??

I thought that sleep is like piss? You can't just choose to piss more than you need to piss as a conscious choice and bad habit. Nobody's walking around looking like a human raisin like "oh yeah I'm getting mummified on my feet because I just fucking love pissing so much", you get dehydrated from not drinking enough, not from pissing too much.

I can't see how you could overdo something that your body can't store for later. Sure, you can fuck up your salt ratio or whatever if you drink too much water all at once, but if you have like 3 more cups of water per day than you need, your body just pisses them out?? Fat stores are a thing because your body likes saving up the energy because there's no knowing beforehand if it might need it for later. Water isn't stored like that and neither is sleep.

The most essential defining trait of the very nature of life is that it wants to continue to live. All things that feel good are rewarded due to some mechanism that rewards behaviour that secures survival often enough to be worth the gamble. I don't see what kind of function is there in wanting to sleep more than the body requires. Like what situation is there where it's beneficial to have a mechanic that goes "hey let's shut down for prolonged times for no benefit and damage the cells and the entire organism for literally no reason."
