just finished icebreaker!! i found it so cute and lighthearted, good portrayal of healing through mental illnesses and good portrayal of queer people. also really enjoyable!!! cant wait for more people to read it, totally 5 stars :D

Hey guys, for anyone who’s read “Gearbreakers” (Zoe Hana Mikuta):

Just got out of Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Pt. 1 and watched Ilsa die, not knowing that would happen going in, while Benji and Luthor are once again fine. She’s been my favorite since the first of those Rebecca Ferguson was in, and I’d deluded myself into believing she was safe, selectively forgetting that part of the MI formula. (So many badass female characters, but killed off in an ever revolving cycle… So many mixed feelings about this franchise.)
For “fridging women,” for “bury your gays,” and in general/life stuff… I don’t want to get burned again right now. And I have no fear of “sunk cost.” I will stop reading if that’s where this is headed.

No they don’t (I’m almost done the sequel). But I will say, many many others do. So you may still feel a bit “burned”, but I promise there are ton of badass women in the duology so it’s not a one off character type or anything.

Everyone should go and read Gearbreakers and Godslayers by Zoe Hana Mikuta RIGHT NOW. They are really really good books and have sapphic romance and angry teenagers tearing down the system. Also big robots.

its really such shame that only like 20 people have proveably read gearbreakers.
