“i’m glad you’re not upset i didn’t talk to you about it first. it’s kind of a lot, me coming out of the blue and telling you i’m going to have to stay with you. i mean….i basically do already, but still. i’d hate to be presumptuous,” she murmured, leaning her head against him. “i like venus better too. it feels more like us. more authentic.” she took a deep breath, closing her eyes and enjoying his warmth there with him. she’d felt so anxious and frazzled and overwhelmed all week– all month– and she was so fortunate to have him. just being around him was enough to help her regain her composure. “who’d’ve thought, when you came onto me in a club, that we’d end up here, huh? not me. i thought you were hot, but a little greasy– we’re both lucky that was my type,” she laughed. “i love you too. you’re my world.” she nodded. “whatever you want. wherever you want. i’d follow you anywhere.”

“Why would I be upset with you?” Minseok asked softly, running his hand down her back when she leaned closer into him. “I love when you stay here with me. I always felt guilty picking you up from your dorm so late at night just so you could sleep here because you were always so exhausted.” He kept hugging her to his chest, happy to just have her right there with him, sitting right there on the couch in his tiny little apartment that he got when he first moved years ago. “Worse, I saw you performing with Haze while I was with the rest of L3THAL at some show and then found you backstage, remember?” he laughed, thinking back to how out of place he looked amongst all the idols there. Minseok bent down slightly to kiss her again. “We’ll find somewhere.”

“I told you renaming the team to Team Fish was a good move. We were blessed by Fish and we won. I am a genius.” @falseprvphet

“Next time we should just have Fish be the only contestant on our team and see if we win again.”

“my mom texted me and told me to tell you that if we don’t go to at least one olympic hockey game in her honor, she’s quitting. i don’t know what she’s quitting, but she is.”

“If the timezones weren’t so different I’d say we can facetime her while we’re there, but we can send her photos for proof at least,” Minseok laughed. “That way she won’t have to quit.”

“hey, you didin’t know i was going to drop them. i barely knew i was going to drop them. i mean, we’d talked about me doing it hypothetically in a yo what if i did this way, but it wasn’t until yoora and i were in negotiations that we decided we really didn’t want to do it anymore. don’t you dare go blaming yourself for something you have no reason to feel bad for,” she told him warningly, kissing his cheek and starting at him seriously, trying to be as stern as possible. “i know. i do always have you. and i’m the luckiest woman in the world because of that. you’re so sweet and so good to me and i love you so much. i’m so grateful to you, min,” she told him sweetly. “mm, why though? even with the two of us, i feel like a penthouse would feel empty. plus, so much cleaning. i mean if you want a penthouse then cool, but i’m happy anywhere if i have you. even if it’s small. it’s cozier that way. literally, min, i don’t care where we live. you’re the important variable here.”

“I’m glad you dropped them,” Minseok said softly, feeling her press a kiss onto his cheek. He smiled back at her as he wrapped his arms closer around her and continued to speak. “No offense to Haze, I just think I like Venus a little better. You actually get to do everything you’re so good at.” Minseok let a comfortable silence fall over them momentarily while he thought about how many times he had picked her up from her dorm and she told him about how frustrating something at work had been that day that she had so little control over. He always wished he could have helped somehow, but in all the years they had been together so far he had never come up with a perfect solution. Minseok shook his head, before kissing her. “I’m so lucky,” he said, “I love you so much, Yein.” Finally a laugh escaped his lips again when he heard her question. “Alright, so maybe a actual penthouse wouldn’t work out. But still, I want to find a nicer place to live with you. Maybe a little bit bigger, maybe in an actually decent neighborhood,” he laughed again, before shrugging his shoulders slightly. “I just wanna live with you too.”

“Hey, um,” Minseok started, trying to keep his smile from already overtaking his face as he sat down next to his best friend. He started unfolding the various photos he had practically been collecting since he first started looking at engagement rings for ‘no reason,’ but had ended up being the source of various details in the ring he was going to get for Yein. He just needed to show Hyosang what it would be first. Minseok flattened the photos out on his leg, making sure they were straightened before looking up at Hyosang. “Can I get your opinion on this?” Minseok asked. He knew it was a vague question, but he didn’t know how else he should actually bring up to Hyo that he was going to ask Yein to marry him. “I, um, I want to ask Yein to marry me. And I couldn’t find a ring that was actually perfect, so I just have to get one made.”

She laughed happily, throwing her arms around his neck and kissing his cheek. “Good. Because I mean it too– I want to live with you.” She smiled a little, rolling her eyes. “it’s not that bad Min. It’s no penthouse, but it’s cozy. And whether I stay here permanently or not, can I at least stay here until we find a place? she asked him sweetly, raising her eyebrow. “Because I’m technically homeless right now. I don’t think Spotlight is going to let me stay in one of their old dorms forever….” Yein cupped his cheek, looking him in the eye. “Min, listen. I don’t care about an apartment. If you want to get a nicer one, we can get a nicer one. If you want to move, we can move. If you’d rather we stay here, we can do that too. I just want to live with you. I really don’t care where that is.”

Minseok couldn’t help but let out a laugh as she threw her arms around him, taking it as an opportunity to wrap his arms around her waist without even thinking about it. “Good,” he smiled back at her, expression only widening when he saw her eyes roll. “I should have asked actually you to actually move in with me sooner. I didn’t mean to wait until you finally got free of Spotlight to do it,” Minseok’s expression faltered slightly at his admission. He leaned into her touch when felt her head cup his cheek, smile returning to his face slowly. “You don’t have to be homeless,” Minseok said, glancing back up at her. “You always have me.” He glanced away from her for a second, thinking about what she had said earlier. “Even if I’d rather bring you in a penthouse than this place,” Minseok looked back at her as he spoke. “I know that the apartment doesn’t actually matter, but still,” he shrugged, “I want to find somewhere nicer for you.” 

“yeah– she called me after it happened. she feels really bad,” nathan cackled. “go mira. that’s more likely. she’d probably think you already knew.”

“Don’t worry, if I ever actually get asked about it, I’ll go with Mira. I wouldn’t rat out Ginny anytime soon.”

“mhm….in……six or seven,” she replied with a smile.

“If you ever need to borrow any sweatshirts until then, just let me know,” he said, “or afterwards. They’re comfy.”

“running away and reinventing myself.”

“That’s a better plan. That’s Yein’s plan at least, or at least the simplified version.”

“thank you,” she said sheepishly. “i’m super excited, though. it probably means dad’s gonna get married again too, and i’m actually old enough that i can come to this one.”

“Your dad and Lucy are so great together,” Minseok replied, “I’m glad you got to remember this one, even if I’m pretty sure Nathan still checked to make sure he was somehow the better Woo son before you guys all left.”

“i’m warning all of you. you’re all at risk.”

“At least it’s not Show Me the Money, half the budget for that show goes to getting more even pyrotechnics then they had last season.”

“the heart wants what the heart wants. maybe you missed me so bad that you just wanted to see me, and then your brain made him look like me?”

“Don’t give me any suggestions,” he laughed softly, “I swear that isn’t even that crazy of an idea.”

“oh man, that’s even more reason for me to go! we all know what snapchat’s true purpose is, even if people mostly use it for pictures of their dogs and food and stuff now.” Hyo pursed his lips together, nodding. “If he sends you anything, I’ll be in charge of that, then. Nothin’ haven’t seen before…” he trailed off, laughing as he spun around in his chair, getting up and going to the door. “you don’t have to do shit. i’m giving you a break so you can deal with your phone. you’re welcome. tell yein i say hi.”

“Yeah, I bet it’s dogs or food or stuff,” Minseok stifled a laugh. It was his fault for clarifying it was a snapchat, it definitely didn’t help his case at all. He shook his head. “Fish pics, Hyosang. Everyone always need more pictures of him,” he pretended to correct his best friend, as if they both weren’t obviously thinking of something else. There was really no use of Minseok trying to deny anything now, he might as well call Teddy and expose things about himself  for the bang book in that moment. “That’s all I’m gonna do, Hyo. You’re really killing a lot of time just for me to tell her you say hi.”
