Making my own post because I don’t want to derail someone else’s. One thing that always bothered me about Sam ships it fics is that Sam always is portrayed as someone who is more knowledgeable about sexual orientation/queerness, which doesn’t make sense. Sam and Dean grew up in the same environment, hanged out in the same bars and truck stops, met the same people. When Sam was in college he wasn’t partying and attending pride parades in solidarity to this friends. He was studying in the library, had one girlfriend and a handful of friends who were planted by demons. There is no logical reason for Sam, who is very much straight (to me at least), to be more knowledgeable about the subject. Not to mention that almost all openly queer characters in the show were closer friends with Dean than Sam.

So if you are writing a Dean who is like “oh I like Cas. This means I’m gay. But I also like women. How can these be????” there is no reason for Sam to go “well Dean, have you considered that you may be bisexual?”

I guess what I am saying is that, if you are going to be classist against one bother, at least be classist to both of them. Because they are literally in the same class

remember when. cas was human and lost and angry at dean but mostly hurt. but as soon as he saw dean strut up to the counter at the gas n sip it was like real sunlight was cutting through the fluorescent lights overhead

like yeah he put the mask back on but his first reaction, his expression on seeing dean was like his heart had stopped for a second. cas had felt before, of course, but now he was feeling his longing in a human kind of rawness and it shows on his face before he can catch himself
