Itβs very common in Austria to drive horses to the mountain pastures (~2000 metres above sea level). Usually you can find young Noriker & Haflinger stallions up there and they spend the entire summer on the high-pastures. Enjoying their freedom, learning how to behave in a herd and itβs said it also makes them sure of step and healthier. Itβs a species-appropriate rearing and also a little vacation for the youngsters before they return after 6 months to start their training. I love the mountains and the landscape and i have a soft spot for Haflingers so i had to represent my country with those 2 things.
