well, say hello to tarot.
i was scrolling on facebook as usual a few days after toot passed away and saw this sad dog sitting in a local city animal control with no vet care. i knew i had to help, i knew i could help. i knew nothing about him, only a picture of him looking mean in a cage and they mentioned that he didnβt seem to be a huge fan of men. i inquired, as nobody else had stepped up and that wound had been festering.
i waked into this city βanimal controlβ in a local police department to be told iβd be met out back and can take the dog. i didnβt have to show my id, or sign any paperwork. he couldβve ended up in the wrong hands. a merle, intact male. backyard breeders delight.
we stopped for a pup cup on the way home. i didnβt know what to expect, if he was mean, if he might turn on me in the car. someone clearly kept him tethered outside due to the fly strike on his ears, some worn fur around his neck and a wrap mark on a rear leg from a tie out. i brought him home for awhile, he came in the house and instantly settled on the floor. we went to work, he was wiggly but allowed techs to get vitals, place an iv catheter and let doc do his exam. they sedated him, debrided the wound and sutured him up.
although he has some fearful quirks, he is such a wonderful, quiet and outgoing dog. i have always dreamed of a merle dog, and i never thought id come across one as theyre usually snatched up pretty quickly.
tarot comes to work with me, stays quiet in his cage, loves everyone he meets (w the exception of a few men) and iβm grateful to give him a chance.
if all works out, he will be staying with me β€οΈ
his laceration repair was around $1400 if anyone would like to donate, please let me know :) i can send a copy of his bill
