you were born to what most would call a picture-perfect family. the kind people envied from afar with the regular family vacations and framed photos in matching sweaters. you grew up in the better part of town, where your mother worked in an office while your father was known as a well-respected lawyer. your mother's warmth was a contrast to your father's sharpness, but not matter how busy their days were, they always made time for you and your sister. they made you feel safe and loved.

or at least, they tried to do so when they were still alive.

it was passed off as a car accident, the tragedy that struck your parents when you were still just a teenager. they said it was the rain. they said it was the brakes. they said it was a quick death. but whispers followed their deaths and something didn't feel right. and though you asked once, your sister shut the door on that conversation, and she never opened it again. she did what she could to protect you from the truth, and maybe part of you was thankful for that.

growing up, you've always been the sunshine in the room, just like your mother. and people remembered that about you--the smile that seemed too big for a cruel world, the innocence in your bright eyes, the joy in all the little things. if there was one thing your mother drilled into your heart, it was to always keep smiling. brighten the world around you. look for the light even in the darkest places.

though eleanor could come off as a bit scattered with too many ideas at once, elle is actually pretty organized. or well, it's an organized chaos that only she could understand. somehow, despite all the clutter and the frantic energy, everything got done in a way that's exactly to their liking. her clients didn’t always see it right away. but by the time the event rolled around, they were always stunned since she’d captured exactly what they had in mind. sometimes even better.

she has a tendency to ramble, especially when she's nervous. which, truthfully, was often. people assumed she was just chatty, full of sunshine and endless stories, but beneath the glow was a tightly wound little ball of anxiety. the kind that overthinks a sentence for hours after it’s spoken. the kind that worries about making everyone feel comfortable, even if she’s unraveling inside.

music has always been her solace. when she was five years old, her mother started teaching her how to play the piano. and she was no prodigy, but she fell in love with the instrument all the same. through years of practice and stubborn dedication, she found her melody. the notes never came out flawless, but they were full of feeling. every time she played, it felt like a thread reaching back to her mother.
