Facts Shmacts!  The War on Christmas, Day 3.  A new character appears.

The War on Christmas, Day 2.

Every year I look forward to FOX News' annual War on Christmas narrative. There will be 12 days (of the war on) Christmas, so tune in between now and December 25th.

This still annoys me to this day.

In February 2013 following the Newtown CT massacre the topic of guns, gun violence and arming school guards came back once again into the media.  This was when the two main characters in the cartoon: Gun and Flower were born.  They later became "Daisy" and "A.R." A.R. represents the conservative mindset.  He's a real "Guns, God and Gays voter" and a parody of the Internet conservative.  He loves football, America, his guns and his family.  He has his heart in the right place sometimes, but often is just off the mark on many issues.  He is based on several conservative friends I have, with a touch of jingoistic bravado thrown in for good measure. Daisy represents the liberal mindset, but in an insufferable way.  Anti meat, Vegan, well educated and intelligent, but an annoying know-it-all.  She fails to get through to A.R. because her viewpoints have an air of superiority and condescention at times.  The Daisy character represents a blend of several liberal friends I have, with a good touch of PETA and radical activist thrown in from my college years.   Daisy and A.R. have a tenuous friendship.  They disagree on most things, argue about everything but still remain loyal to each other when it's all said and done. i hope you enjoy Facts Shmacts! as much as I enjoy making it.

In 2010 I did a 12 issue run of a cartoon called FACTS SHMACTS! which evolved out of the BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Disaster in the Gulf Coast. Fast Forward to 2013, and I rebooted the cartoon to be an episodic daily with a cast of cartoonish characters to discuss relevant political and social issues with a touch of humor.  The main reason I rebooted the cartoon was the numerous copyright issues I was coming across making the cartoon with images I got off the web.  The new cartoon doesn't have that issue. This tumblr blog will contain my Facts Shmacts! dailies when I post them here.  Enjoy!
