This charlatan needs to be more than just defeated. He must be vanquished loudly, brightly and marvelously. His militantly paranoid factions of a new-but-not-really-new-at-all hate mongrel will scatter back into the darkness while their demagogue burns.
Don’t be stupid: He is not momentous. He embodies not a brave voice of unpopular truths. He is Victor Lustig in a dunce cap. Animated vomit. A bile-golem. A scarecrow with a bullhorn. This ridiculous man is like the final boss in a third-rate arcade game that shorts out and doesn’t return your quarters. A fact-resistant troll who, without a stream of uncreative insults and bizarre, repetitive ramblings, is little more than a stuffed and overpriced shirt. Terrorized by the slightest challenge. A bloated carnival float suspended before our eyes by the collective delusion of a rabid fanbase. Nationwide naïveté and a strong, patently white, impulse to feel persecuted by the ‘other’ has allowed him to turn what should have been the death throes of an era that had lost most of its relevance, into an invective-driven death march.
It matters not even a pinch whether his sycophants are sincerely entrenched in this embarrassing crusade (too many!) or they have simply been conned (more than you probably think). It’s herculean, perhaps reckless, to try and dissect the sociological nuances of individuals who are angry, misinformed and heavily armed. When growing across our nation is a multi-million person long ass-to-mouth battering ram, intentions are lost in the acridity.
I refuse to remain complicit while flag-sucking automatons and their atrocious ideas writhe into the spaces of the marginalized, molesting their fundamental quality of life.
There is no swamp to drain. It’s only us who are able to catalyze his collapse. just US. His defeat needs to be more than a loss. Our message must be more than biting. This isn’t a movie: we are not the rebellion- we’re the resistance. We must sink a nail bomb into the infectious gut of untethered nationalism before what we’ve allowed to proliferate into an epidemic turns into an epoch.
