Every time I apply my oestrogen gel because of menopause I think "there is a trans woman somewhere who is also sitting in her underwear post shower waiting for the gel to dry before she finishes getting dressed" and I feel happy and a sense of kinship and camaraderie with her even though I am not a trans woman or even trans femme in anyway
But I know how to apply the gel because I saw posts from trans women how to apply it and I feel that even though are reasons for using it are different that we are not so different
So for any woman or non binary person out there who are sitting post oestrogen gel application and scrolling on their phone as they wait for it to dry...we are doing this together and this genderqueer person lovee you
"Dogwhistles" are called that based on real "dog whistles", many of which are pitched too high to be audible to most humans, but are still perfectly audible to dogs.
Rhetorical dogwhistles are things that most people would not be able to identify as bigoted because they're INTENDED to have plausible deniability.
The wording changes are meant to be subtle enough that people really can mix them up accidentally when they don't have much information!
So when the gender critical movement calls trans women "transwomen", they're hoping for 2 things.
this usage will spread enough among people who don't know any better, to give transphobes the plausible deniability of not LOOKING like a frothing bigot constantly.
the usage grammatically places trans women in a different category than other women; it's changing "trans" from an adjective to part of a noun to make this distinction.
The more we can avoid this usage, the less deniability have transmisogynists have when using it, and the less rhetorical ground we cede to the degendering and misgendering of trans women.
I don't actually think ceding this ground is LESS divisive than pointing it out politely.
Shout out to mediocre black people actually. Shout out to black people who are bad at shit. You donât need to be the best for your life to matter.

these photos are so insane. how the fuck do you live with the shame of this and still have the audacity to get on stage and say "what these tiktok zoomers don't understand is, well, in a way we are all complicit and we should all reflect on that" bro i was not the one who signed a 38 billion dollar military aid package in 2016. hope you are haunted by this every single waking moment for the rest of your life
Level 1: Asylums are scary because there's crazy people there.
Level 2: We shouldn't treat mental health facilities as objects of horror because it stigmatises mental illness.
Level 3: Asylums are scary because there's psychiatrists there.
itâs interesting to me that the same people who insist they comment on fat peoples bodies they are âjust concerned about healthâ think commentary on ultra thin celebrities is body shaming. while i do not doubt itâs happening, i do not see the mass majority of people calling these people ugly or repulsive. however, it is clear by fansâ reactions to this commentary that many people conflate saying someone looks unhealthy with saying someone looks ugly. they think that in order to protect these celebritiesâ reputations as beautiful role models we also have to deny that they might have health issues. they reveal that when they say fat people look unwell, that they are saying they are repulsed by their bodies and think they are ugly. but they are also telling on themselves that they think anyone who is visibly disabled is ugly, too.
knowing the history around the ugly laws here in the us, that does not surprise me, but i havenât seen anyone talk about the ableism baked into these conversations. describing a beautiful woman as sick is seen as the equivalent of calling her unlovable, and thatâs why âbody shamingâ is the conversation many people insist on having. itâs wild to me because some of the most beautiful people iâve ever met or seen are also visibly disabled. people have to outright deny the possibility of someone having a disability or illness in order to maintain their belief someone is beautiful.
Motherâs Day passed in many parts of the world, and people celebrated all over. However, over Motherâs Day weekend Hamzaâs familyâs fundraiser was taken down by gofundme. They now have to start from square one all over again.
Hamza has several young nieces who are all suffering from malnutrition. Please, if you have the means, donate to their family. It would mean a lot to them.
FUNDRAISER.
Stop what you're doing now and share this. You mustn't forget that there are children and families suffering in Gaza. Any donation will go towards buying the necessary medicine to treat sick members of my family, including myself. The treatment is very expensive. Donate or share as much as you can.

If your life is horrible and you need a new source of meaning and direction.... Do NOT find religion. Learn to identify plants.
I've been told learning to identify different rocks makes looking at a countertop exciting
Birds are also a stellar option
me: i donât want to see jellyfish so i will blacklist the tag #jellyfish
people with no common sense: je11yf1sh, je11ÂĽfi5h, j*llyf*sh, je//Ăżf!sh, j3ĂŻ||yfÂĄsh, gel lee fisk
result: cannot account for the sheer amount of possible ways to alter the word jellyfish
conclusion: i have to see jellyfish now.
Once again, tumblr is not tiktok, tag properly.
This. Please. Whether I'm avoiding spoilers for a show or people promoting eating disorders, if I block a tag it means I don't want to see it. Spell your fucking tags properly.
!!!!!!!

Itâs extremely fucked up that some ppl try to make you feel stupid and immature for hoping for a better world. You say you want world peace and mfs think you need a pacifier; dawg, I just donât want ppl dying from violence. This idea that ppl simply must die as casualties of war is misanthropic to say the least.
getting called naĂŻve when youre just not brainwashed enough to believe it has to be like this

âyou complain about how much water ai uses, but how much water do you use making searches and using social media?!â
exactly, we havenât been able to have conversations about sustainability beyond ai use in years because ai is such a massive crisis. we have known for years how predatory and extractive tech isâ no one knows better than the DRCâ and yet we are on a worst trajectory in terms of climate crisis than we were before.
you are right, this is so much bigger than ai. itâs so much bigger than tech alone. and yet that doesnât actually challenge the legitimacy of arguments against ai because it just proves how high the stakes are. the overton window has moved so far into dystopia that conversations we used to have about sustainability are now supposed to be a âgotchaâ.
I love the internet, love the good things it can give. Communities, connecting with loved ones, easy access to art and knowledge. Would I give all that up to save the environment? In a heartbeat.
These are the kinds of conversations we need to start having.

pmdd resources should be written for women AND include gender neutral language for people who donât identify as women. if you ONLY use gender neutral language for an issue that only affects the female sex who are predominantly women, then youâre just doing what the patriarchy already does - pretending women donât exist. âwomen and people who menstruateâ is ideal - inclusive without erasure. thoughts?
using gender neutral language doesn't pretend that women don't exist. gender neutral language is gender neutral, and should be used because menstruation and anything related to it is gender neutral. using "women + people who menstruate" still puts a focus on menstruation being a "woman thing", which it is not.
to say that menstruation only affects the female sex regardless of gender is also incorrect as some intersex people have a menstrual cycle. and not all cis women have periods either, so "people who menstruate" is the most inclusive term for all.
gender neutral language is inclusive. it includes women. and it includes people who are not women.
When you count women post-menopause, pre-adolescent girls, intersex women, trans women, women on forms of birth control that suppress periods, women with various medical causes of infertility, pregnant women, etc. you'll find that they're the majority. MOST women do not menstruate!
And don't forget women who've had a hysterectomy (either by choice or necessity), women who experiece severe malnutrition or severe anemia, women with hormonal issues that disupt their cycle, or for whom having a period is unsafe due to blood clotting issues. (Also quick sidenote: infertility and lack of menstruation aren't actually linked that closely. Yes, some people with a lack of periods are infertile, but you can be fertile without experiencing any periods and you can be infertile while experiencing regular periods.)
stop posting about your badly behaved dog i mean husband online if youâre going to get upset with the people telling you heâs a bite risk. âlook at what my husband packed me for my lunchâ and itâs the most insulting low effort assortment of snacks youâve ever seen accompanied with a note that says âi see you as subhumanâ. âugh guys stop telling me my husband doesnât respect me youâre not the ones in the relationship you donât know what heâs really likeâ yes i do and i think you should have him put down.
i used to agree with this sentiment and then i saw someone say that this is often one of the first steps in them realizing their relationship is not normal and they need to leave their partner
âalso publicly insulting and announcing that you are leaving someone who does not respect you as a human being and who lives in your house can be extremely dangerous
