I always think that I would very much like to spend the rest of my days with you. Listening to your dreadful puns, holding your hand, and⌠I loved you, Owen. I shouldâve told you.
I prefer it here. This one. This day with you.

no one likes a mad woman, you made her like that.
some straight people do not realize that whenever you out someone it is, literally detrimental for their safety and well being, lgbt people have gotten kicked out of their house, abused and even killed for being outed at lgbt and if you ever out someone I hope u sincerely rot in hell Â
i am honestly just so fucking disgusted and at a loss for words right now, if you are closeted and in the taylor fandom I would encourage you to take your sexuality out of your bio in case someone tries to out you, please please be safeÂ
outing someone isnt just sharing some little secret someone posted on the Internet, because itâs not just âsome little secretâ â it is the conclusion someone has come to (or is still coming to!) on their own identity, not shared with family members or irls for reasons that are their business, but a reminder that one of those reasons is often times the possibility of encountering physical danger or harm. people end up KILLED. BEATEN. ABUSED. KICKED OUT. HOMELESS. let alone any of the emotional & verbal abuse that can & often does come of it. EVEN IF someoneâs family ends up being accepting, itâs their decision to choose when to share that and to open themselves up to the possibility of receiving that acceptance. you could be creating a horrible moment for someone or even be taking one that wouldâve been wonderful away. you are actively affecting someoneâs livelihood by doing this, and itâs not funny â itâs disgusting & inhumane.
The video for cardigan âcabin in candlelightâ version is out now using new behind-the-scenes footage from the album photoshoot.
I couldnât find the original post from forever ago documenting a lot of this (homophobia in the industry), so I decided to create a new post from scratch (with about twice as much content as the first).
So, here are some collages made up of many different article clips, all of the articles out there and easily available in full, by the way.
Just in case you were wondering whether or not it was a realistic notion that a gay actor/actress today would actually put him/herself through hell and lead a false life full of unimaginable hardships (not to mention web after web of complex lies) due to a still-toxic & homophobic industry.
(which...spoiler alert...yes, it is a very realistic notion, tragically)
Did you know that based on a compilation of estimated percentages of LGBT+ people from most major demographics itâs been determined that 3/4 of LGBT+ actors and actresses specifically remain fully closeted today? Just think about that for a second. 3/4. Now think about how many fauxmances (including fauxmances that have become faux-marriages) exist out there in the industry.
Just let it sink in.

all-my-possessions:
all-my-possessions:
All You Had To Do Was Stay (thatâs how it works thatâs) How You Get The Girl: A few general observations.
I. All You Had to Do Was Stay and How You Get the Girl were the first two songs to be written for 1989, on the 10th and 15th January 2013 respectively.
II. The way Taylor has described the inspiration for AYHTDWS - as a dream involving an ex who turned up unexpectedly on her doorstep in the hopes of rekindling their relationship - is unmistakably reminiscent of HYGTG. (x) (x)
III. There are parallels in both cases with White Horse (which may be of relevance when it comes to deciding precisely what, if any, relation these songs bear to reality). Thus:Â
âNow itâs too late for you and your white horse to come aroundâ is partially echoed by All You Had To Do Was Stayâs âNow you say you want it back/now that itâs just too late.â

Itâs just occurred to me that I Wish You Would might be considered a further elaboration on the same theme, with the third verse perhaps consciously alluding - either by condensing or offering a possible conclusion - to the events narrated by HYGTG/AYHTDWS. Â Â
That Taylor (in Tokyo) contextualised IWYW generally as a âcinematicâ fantasy of the type with which HYGTG has itself been thought analogous is interesting. As more importantly, is the fact that she later introduced the third verse with the following words:
âAnd then at the end of the movie, the person shows up, right at the right time and says exactly what the other wanted to hear. At 2.amâ
This perfectly describes the conditions under which the re-conciliatory doorstep conversation of HYGTG/AYHTDWs is supposed (actually or otherwise) to have happened.

Part (iii.)
I was doing some reading and (re)discovered this:Â
So whoâs Drew in âTeardrops on My Guitarâ?
He was a guy who I met freshman year of high school. He had the most beautiful eyes and this amazing smile. He was so cute and niceâand he talked to me every dayâŚabout his girlfriend! Which is like the screeching brake sound. But I had it bad for him. And I just kept thinking, Why am I so invisible to him? Why does he have to have a girlfriend? I never told him that I liked him, but I did write a song with his name on itâso I think he knows now.
Has he contacted you?
Actually, he showed up in my driveway a couple months ago, and it was like in the movies where at the end the guy shows up in your driveway, and you have this awesome kiss â except itâs three years too late. Iâm like, Why didnât you do this years ago?!? He was a stranger by then, so I felt like I didnât know him anymore. Â
Seventeen Magazine, 29th December 2008 Â (XÂ /Â X)
When considered with the arguments presented above about HYGTG and AYHTDWS, and Taylorâs fascination more generally with the lyrical motif  âex-lovers on a doorstep,â this is interesting for what it implies about the tension between imagination and reality in her lyrics. It suggests that a particular (personal) experience might plausibly be (re)imagined after the event and used subsequently to introduce a variety of new circumstances (actual or fantastic) with which it is implicitly compared, but to which it is most probably unrelated. (The same actors are not involved.)  Â
ETA (24/04/2018): Given that the first song to be inspired by this historical experience (with Drew) â The Other Side of the Door â was written in 2007, Taylorâs claim that âhe showed up in my driveway a couple of months agoâ (as of November/December 2008) is at best inaccurate and at worst a lie.

This is me trying: And maybe I donât quite know what to say/But Iâm here in your doorway
Betty:Â Betty, Iâm here on your doorstep/And I planned it out for weeks now/But itâs finally sinkinâ in/Betty, right now is the last time/I can dream about what happens when/You see my face again
