Sypnosis: spending the summer in Italy with your F1 racer boyfriend
Tw:usage of y/n, but the reader is in third person.
Her summers changed since the time she became Kimi Antonelli's girlfriend. Not for the worse, duuh. They now consisted of a few trips to the most unexpected places. From USA to Europe and finaly Asia- life now was filled with colors, traditions and weirdest foods.
But a special place in her heart was reserved to one country only - Italy.
It's not every day you can come to a country of your boyfriends origin, where both of you seem to belong the most.
While the truth is she haven't even been there yet! But the whole flight all she could think about was light summer breeze, salty beach waves and a taste of delicious Italian pizza- all of it was so her!
"Are you excited?" -her boyfriend Kimi asked.
"Do I look excited?" -she asks back, pointing at the mini TV before her, where their distance to Italy was shown. She was staring at it for a good 5 minutes. Okay, that's not much, but it's more than a minute, right? Then it must mean something!
He gigles, intervening their fingers and squeezing her hand.
"I'll be happy to show you around. And to introduce you to my parents"
"Do you think they will like me?"
"Of course. My sister already loves you without even meeting you. My parents are more reserved but they'll come around."
After the flight ended, they stepped out the plane into the busy airport. They collected their luggage (ofc Kimi was holding every bag and suitcase duuh) and finally reached the entrance where his family was waiting. When his sister Maggie saw them, she imeadeatly ran to her and hugged her brothers girlfriend tight. She did the same, commenting on something that made his sister gigle.
In the meantime, Kimi hugged his own parents, who were happy to see him after quite some time.
After that, Maggie guided her to where the three of them were standing, and there, his parents hugged her too, kissing her lightly on both of her cheeks.
"Glad to finally meet you, cara (dear), Kimi was talking about you non-stop for the past 2 months." His mom smiled.
She chuckled at the way Kimi was getting flustered.
"Mama, why make me embarrassed the moment we meet after so long!"
All of them gigled at that.
After an hour, the Antonelli family (and, well, Y/n) were already in the car, almost home. She was talking with Maggie for most of the ride, not that his parents weren't interested in her, but Maggie was SUPER happy to have someone like her to talk to.
"Not so much anymore but I like the pizza game, what is it, pizza tycoon or something?"
Yeah, yeah, I know what you're talking about! Why don't you play as much anymore?"
"I got employed (would not recommend)," she whispered the last part, making his sister chuckle.
After reaching their destination, Kimi, once again, took all of their stuff, bringing it into his room where they will be sleeping in. She looked around seeing him, really. Not that his room was filled with just photos of him but instead with his hobbies. A mirror to his soul, as you may say. Formula one posters and car models, racing simulator set, some pictures with him and his friends, football gadgets, a few books about movies she knew he liked. It was a bit messy but so cozy at the same time. She was already in love with it, but then her eyes caught something - a shelf with details from their dates.
Framed pictures of them together or just her, DIY's, and crafts she had made for him such as felt book with them or sketches of Kimi with his f1 car. It was beautiful and probably the most neat part of the room.
Kimi was in the process of cleaning up so they would have more space to put their stuff in when he saw where she was looking.
He blushed a little, hugging her from behind.
"You like my shelve huh?"
"That's just so cute. I love it. When did you start collecting stuff like that?"
"From forever honestly. At first, I just put it everywhere, but after some time, there was just so much I had to give it a well-deserved separate place."
After they had finished unpacking, it was already evening time. Kimi's parents were great cooks, but since it was their first day (back) in Italy, they decided why not go to a restaurant!
There, the family figured out more about her as they chatted carelessly. It was a great evening for everyone, gigling and making poor Kimi embarrassed every 10 seconds.
His parents took her under their wing immediately. She was already talking to them as if they were friends for 10 years, and well, they did the same!
After dinner, they all went home. The three kidos jumped into Kimi's bed, ready to watch a movie.
Maggie immediately sat between them, munching on some popcornand sipping on a mocktail Y/n has made for her.
They turned on some family comedy hiding under a warm blanket.
They were chuckling and commenting on some funny parts from time to time but still remained concentrated. Well, the two girls at least, Kimi couldn't stop himself from looking at his girlfriend most of the time.
She noticed but tried to hold in the little grin because of how cute he looked being so awkward. Can you believe the same guy might just be a world champion soon?
After a couple of hours, Maggie fell asleep. Y/n was gently running her fingers through her hair since the beginning of the movie and now tucked her in.
"Where will we sleep?" -Kimi asked quietly.
"Looks like one of us gotta go spend a night in Maggie's room or sofa~" -she replied, smiling.
Kimi rolled his eyes, complaining to himself and taking his pillow. She could hear some parts of it like "first night back" and "not fair," but she knew he didn't mind it, knowing both of them would be safe and comfortable.
He confirmed Y/n's thoughts by kissing his sister on the forehead and Y/ on the lips. They both smiled at each other.
"You too, Kimi, love you"
The next day was warm and sunny. So pretty early on the whole family decided to go to the beach.
They found a spot just near the sea and set up their towels, sun umbrellas, and put away their bags.
As Kimi and Y/n were chatting, they sprayed theirs elves with sunscreen.
"Who reaches the sea first- wins!" -Kimi gigled as he began to run.
"Hey, wait for the sunscreen to dry!" - She shouted but still ran after him.
They reached the sea at almost the same time (Kimi might have slowed down a bit) and were a gigling mess.
She splashed him with water since they both were just halfway in. Kimi winced at the cold water and did the same, making her curse quietly.
Soon after, Maggie jumped in as well, as the three of them swam around and played volleyball.
After around an hour and a half, that passed about fifteen minutes, they got out of the sea and went on a little walk through burning hot sand, tanned, went to the sea again, bought ice cream, another walk and that's how that wonderful day ended.
In the evening, Kimi and her sneaked out (his parents would allow them to go out anyways, but what's the fun in that right?). He suggested that to show some cool spots around.
The air was still warm, even though it was already dark, just a few lights illuminating the colorful streets. Their hair were still a bit damp. Their skin now at least 2 times darker.
Kimi took Y/n's hand intervening their fingers.
"Thank you for coming here"
"Who wouldn't agree to come to Italy"
He chuckles. " Well, true, it's fun here, isn't it? But really, I am super happy to have you here. If it weren't for you, it wouldn't be as amazing. What did I even do during the summer before meeting you?"
She smiles. " Well, thank you, I'm happy to spend my summer with you as well. I wasn't expecting your family to take me in so easily, but even the language barrier wasn't such a big issue. Also, I'm happy to be able to see your favorite places or restaurants or even your room, which is just so you, by the way. I guess it's really cool to just be able to figure out more and more about you."
He smiles and kisses her forehead. " I love you to the moon and back"
She smiles a little. "I love you more"
