Intro - Original concept of greek creature mythos
So, I'm writing my own graphic novel, and had developed these concepts and designs for my final project at uni... After months of pondering and self conscious procrastination, im putting it up to life :p
Satyr lineages
Satyrs are all servants of Dyonisus, and have their culture of bucolic lifestyle, music, festive and wine;
Sileni – with horse tails and ears, and flat noses, are deceitful and libertine, descendants of the ancient god Silenus, the first satyr. Sileni are known for causing more conflict due to their lustful behavior towards nymphs and myriads, and for opposing heroes and gods. They are the keepers of the knowledge of winemaking, along with the panes grapes.
Also, there's a single centaur in the region! It's a descendent of the Quiron lineage, which lead him to have the means and hability to become the local blacksmith.
Panes – with the legs, face, and horns of goats, descendants of the god Pan – are peaceful and warm. Panes are very humble in the presence of Olympians and are favored by the dryad and naiad nymphs. They have a natural inclination for music, creators of wind instruments, and are associated to the culture of grapevines.
Panes possesses the virtue of panic, a scream that stuns and confuses individuals nearby, causing them to stride away.
Nymphs
Nymphs possess the power to manipulate the very element from which they were born, as they are essentially spirits of the element to which they are connected. Their forms are variable by the time they bloom (appear in physical form) predominantly feminine and young-adult. The culture of a nymph is to appear at a mature age of reproduction and generate more offspring; however, they have their own closed community, even in their dormant state (their natural elements – flowers, trees water beds)
