I am a girl who is a Christian. I hope to date someday, but haven’t yet. I haven’t really even been asked out. But I strongly believe in dating with a purpose (with marriage in mind), and I hope to someday be married to a Christian guy who loves God and is growing in faith. If I ever get asked out and I’m unsure if the guy is a Christian, what should I do? Is there a less awkward way of saying “Are you a Christian? I only date Christians”? Haha
hey! waiting to date is a good thing, especially if you haven’t found anyone worth dating thus far! and girl i feel you…. i don’t casually date either. know why? because there is no point in investing yourself (your emotions, your heart, and your time) if it’s not going to lead to something more serious. at least, that’s how i feel!
k this is something i LIVE BY when it comes to relationships, and i’m gonna share it with you and every other girl out there because i believe it’s so incredibly important!!!!
every girl (and guys, you can apply this too) should have a list of non-negotiables. these are things that you are not willing to compromise when it comes to finding a partner. if you’re a believer, your NUMBER ONE non-negotiable should be that you won’t date someone if they aren’t a believer and follower in Christ.
so one way to approach someone, if they ask you out, is ask them what their non-negotiables are first!!! and you’ll know RIGHT AWAY if they are a believer or not (follow up with questions if needed). and if they don’t say it, hopefully they ask you what yours are too. and if they don’t ask, say it anyway! haha if he gets scared and runs away, he isn’t for you anyway!!! it’s good to be upfront with information like this. you don’t want to waste his time and you don’t want to waste yours either. i think he would appreciate it in the long run!
