1. Seizure/Epilepsy Training! (For free) By the Epilepsy Foundation it is an online module based program takes about 60-75 minutes but you will have three weeks to complete it. It will give you a Certification at the end after completing. Why this? It's important to know and quite interesting! Being seizure/epilepsy training certified also looks great on resumes and applications!

2. Food handlers card. Needed for any restaurant or fast food related job, and also generally helpful for at home cooking practices. Found efoodcard.com with a ~$7.99 fee. Online module based course regarding food safety practices. Is required for food related jobs and looks good on resumes and applications. When the course is complete you will have the certificate and 2 food handlers cards (one for you one for employer copies).

3. (If in the US) Memorize your social security number. It's asked for on almost all the important documents, often including hiring packets from employers.

4. Build your resume. This is more complex but if y'all are interested I can post separately an example! Important notes, keep it limited to one page, use only Harvard approved adjectives

5. Build a basic cover letter. Same as number four, I can post separately an example if it's wanted. But it is so much easier to modify a CV than it is to make a new one from scratch.

6. CPR/AED/First Aid training! Definitely important to know no matter your situation. But it is required for various jobs, and looks good on resumes and applications! Found online at RedCross.org with a ~$37.99 fee, you will have a certificate and an expanded knowledge bank at the end of the course!

(edited addition!) 7. Getting a passport! Never know where you will find yourself in the future and in the US these take up to 6 months to process and get back to you.

Let's break it down,

Starting with the simpler definition

Autocracy is a government structure, and dictatorship is a form of autocracy.

-Autocracy features one person with decision making power and absolute control. Autocratic rulers are not accountable to anyone and their people have no say in laws or rulings.

-common forms of autocracy include monarchies and dictatorships!

Well what's a dictatorship then?

-dictators originated as people given temporary extraordinary powers in times of crises

-"Modern dictators, however, resemble ancient tyrants rather than ancient dictators," (Britannica 1).

-in dictatorships the people are suppressed to some degree, typically in loss of autonomy power and living in fear.

-dictators often adjust the laws to work in their favor and give themselves more power. There are different types of dictatorships (5) as well.

-there are 53 dictatorships in the modern world

How does this help understand Fascism?

In the shorter definition of fascism, it says there are tendencies or outright exercise of autocratic or dictatorial control.

Applying this knowledge of dictatorships and autocracy to the longer definition you will come to the understanding that fascism

(TL;DR) is a dictatorial leaning form of governmental ideology that utilizes oppression, fear tactics, and outright suppression of the people in order to maintain a centralized government with complete or near complete control over the people; removing as much accountability as possible with the potential to bend or create laws in favor of increased power.

Students around the U.S. are peacefully protesting in support of Palestine. Setting up encampments on campus lawns with demands that have to be met in order for them to leave.

What's an encampment?

-its a form of protest where groups of people set up tents and tarps and remain on the land where their supplies are until their demands are met.

Okay, well why is it getting so crazy? I thought you said peaceful?

-These protests ARE peaceful! The protest itself (encampments) are meant to take up visual and literal space so they cannot be ignored. To add to this, some are organizing chants, dances to Palestinian music and in their style, arts that are traditionally Palestinian, and more so they may keep these practices alive and continue to bring attention to these people as they are being bombed to the ground. You will notice, that all of these add-ons are still peaceful.

-college campuses are pulling up arbitrary rules, policies, and regulations in an attempt to silence these protests. When the protesters refuse to leave, because it's an encampment, police started getting out of hand. Using tear gas, riot gear, and unnecessary force to disperse the students. Many of these students have been arrested and are being cut off from their access to school resources.

Which campuses specifically?

-Most known and one of the larger ones is on Colombia college campus. However there colleges all through the country participating

Okay well, why do the colleges care so much if it's peaceful?

Two reasons:

1) most protests have among their demands full disclosure of where their funds are going when they pay the schools for tuition and other expenses

2) the 3.5% rule-historically to enact change only 3.5% of the population needs to act and then the government can't avoid it anymore. This worries higher ups who are against Palestinians as 3.5% of Americans is 12 million, and there are 18 million college students in the U.S.

The numbers:

Kendrick is well known in the rapping scene and recently uploaded a diss track dragging Drake, a fellow rapper, through all his own dirty laundry. Kendrick proceeded to upload two MORE diss tracks bringing the total to three. Rapper fans everywhere are on the edge of their seats to see how Drake responds.

Cue Macklemore! He released a song called "Hind's Hall" critiquing the U.S' actions and non actions in regards to the genocide of palestinian peoples. My favorite part of hinds hall is when he asks how you would feel if your family were being murdered indiscriminately? You would want someone to stand for you "and the students finally did". Love! Another line, and how it ties the Kendrick and Drake into the genocide goings on is "fuck a response from Drake, [] want a ceasefire"

Macklemore is sending ALL funds from streaming Hind's Hall to the liberation of Palestinians.

-I keep a google doc and for every job I have had I write down the company, hire date, supervisors and their contact info, my position in the company, the job as I experienced it, the literal job description (copy paste from their website), my pay, any promotions, and my leave date
