Say you break your ankle. You could know everything there is to know intellectually about the injury. Even with this vast knowledge, you will still experience physical pain.

This a a reminder to not fall victim to the sunk-cost fallacy. Just because you invested time and energy into something, does not mean you should indefinitely waste more time and energy on it, if you decide itâs not what you want anymore. This goes for anything, from books, to relationships, to jobs, to hobbies, etc.
If itâs not serving you anymore, move on.
This is honestly one of the places I find Marie Kondo's advice most helpful. I stop, look at the thing I've spent time and money on only to realize I dislike, and I say, "Thank you for teaching me something about myself and my preferences. I think I've learned this particular lesson and we can part ways now."
And then I don't feel like I "wasted" things or made a mistake. I just tried one path of learning about myself, learned something, and now it's time for a different path. Works a lot better for my brain.
The time Marie Kondo said "you can thank a a shirt you've never worn for teaching you about your taste", thereby making it NOT A WASTE literally rewired my whole brain. Acknowledge the thing and move forward, even if that means leaving the thing behind.

Weird long rant bc of one youtube short that doesn't even matter lmao
This is a weird gripe to have, but I saw a short on drawing breasts, except they were using fruit as a substitute. They went on to explain contour lines, which are helpful, but some part of me was conflicted. Using fruit is fine if you're explaining contour lines, but using fruit to represent breasts is odd.
Fruit often has solid/tough skin, breasts are usually soft and pliable. I often see people using bags or balloons to simulate the gravity and shape, which makes more sense especially if you're new to drawing breasts.
It's also just...youtube/tiktok/reels level of censorship. Censorship is dumb, but the artist wanted the video to get more reach, which is respectable...but something bugs me about the emphasis on stuff. "This FRUIT here has these BLOSSOM marks that are in the center of the FRUIT" and I'm like ok, yes, I get that those are nipples. Idk. Idk what point I'm trying to make but somethin just irks my nerves.
Breasts is a medical/anatomical term. We can say "this video is about drawing breasts, but let's use ___ instead."
It might not get much reach, but at least it gets the people going "oohoho is this an innuendo? Oh I KNOW this isn't actually about fruit."
