She pushed though the crowded golden streets as sunset filled the Heaven's skies. Lute wanted to reach her destination as quickly as possible; the only place she really felt safe at the moment. It didn't matter if she lost clearance to everything else; but they couldn't keep her blocked from being around Adam's presence one last time...
Finally; climbing up the dimly lit stairs and tunnel she'd reach Adam's office, the setting sun's light shining though stained glass windows as she basked in the empty silence of the vast space.
It felt strange to be here, in a room that now was vacant. What was going to happen to it now that Adam was gone? Would it be repurposed? There was no need for the Exterminations anymore after all? Not that would matter anymore considering Michael stripped her of her rank and title.
Lute laid her hands on the late commander's desk, ruffing though documents and letters that were left untouched. Adam rarely read any of it, he saw no point. ‘Waste of time, babe’, she'd recall being his excuse. He never was one to deal with bureaucracy that was thrown at him.
A brief smile would form on her face thinking back to better times, but faded just as quickly.
Why Adam? Why did it have to be his life? All he ever did was stand up where no one else would? He was the only one left that seemed to take the threat of Hell rising up seriously? Even Sera seemed to soften her stance.
And Michael? The Sword of God? He seemed to grow fond over that brat. The Princess' hotel plan was always dead in the water and a waste of time! Giving a Sinner a second chance to be saved? What, so they can get up her and cause havoc?!
They're in Hell for a reason!
She swore by her sword that she would do whatever it took to keep Heaven safe and away from the influence of Hell. But now?
It felt like everyone around her lost their damn minds!
Hands formed into fist as rage reached a boiling point, cursing though clenched teeth and...
Lute let out an agonizing howl, a harrowing sound as if it came from the shriek of the Damned itself as she flipped over the desk in fury; shattering the glass of the nearest window with paper flying around her.
She didn't stop there. Anything that was breakable fell victim to her rage. Glass, fixtures, guitars; whatever that was in the damn room she could get her hands on! The angel didn't care, if it was in her way it was bounded to be destroyed.
After her tantrum and whatever ire she still had piled up was taken out on the nearest wall, leaving a crack in it's wake.
With all that frustration that was building up released, it was only now would Lute would finally break down and burst into tears...
Lute wrapped her wings around herself as she tightly squeezed at her arms; her talons sinking into skin that it was close enough to draw blood. She watched her tears hit the ground below between pitiful sobs.
She felt so lost. What was she suppose to do now?
Adam is dead, her rank and title were taken from her and Michael barred her from the other the rest of the Exorcist all just to prevent the risk of her doing something reckless.
What more does she have left when everything was taken from her...?
