Faith as earned me nothing , But a liar’s tongue

The Garden was new bits of it still unfinished and stretching out into the vastness protected by the light that shielded against the encroaching darkness that depending on the time of times , was either right up against it or pulled back .

And exploring the edge of this garden away from the watchful stares of those older then them, was one young Fledgling Seraphim , following the deep roots of a new plant called trees , he walked along the grass eyed seeing deep into the ground entranced by the connecting roots and lines and stems , Samuel would have ran along the edge like that unbothered , however he had noticed something strange, it was faint but it was there, a inky whispy line of black and red attaching its self to the underground root.

Samuel blinked and looked up noticing a strange black sapling , it looked weak and sickly .. maybe it needed help?

He couldn’t use all his powers yet but he could try .

Small sparks of light flickered from his hands like mini fireworks , he held it over the sapling … it seemed to grow stronger for a second glowing before the blackness took over it again but it looked a little healthier then before .

“•Hello, -Hello,”• a voice seemed to echo from the sapling and root drawing Samuel away from it , towards the wall of light, ever curious the fledgling made their way towards the voice. “Hello?.. who are you?… where are you?”

“•Not far not far, come come little bird little bird•” the whispered through the blacken root, always echoing and reverberating.

Samuel should have ran.. should have told someone , but no one was here, just him, and he didn’t want to get in trouble for running off again. What if it was a friend ? His first friend ! With a little flick of his tail he followed the voice .

He was led to the very edge of the garden , here was just vast whiteness with a oozing blackness kept at bay, small inky whisps of it leaking through what looked like a very small crack.

The blackness swirled and danced like a wave against the light wall, mesmerizing and haunting .

Samuel was enthralled golden eyes watching its every movement . “Hello?.. my names Samuel! What’s yours ?”

“• Hello little bird little bird , no, no, little star little star; I am I am , myself myself •” the voice was stronger here still muffled through .

It sounded friendly enough, Samuel placed his hand against the light wall, the warmth of it reverberating against his palm— WHACK.

The blackness slammed against the wall where his hand was scrambling scrabbling against it in vain.

The little Angel shied away eyes wide pulling his hand back.

“•Can’t reach you can’t reach you , can’t touch you can’t touch you.. little star, little star come to me , come to me•”

“I-iM not allowed out there ..it’s dangerous .. are you stuck out there?? I-I can get help—“ if anything he could run away from this thing .

And yet something kept him rooted to the spot , he wasn’t sure what it was. A curiosity ? A need to help? fear ?

“•do not run , do not run, You are , you are , the one stuck, the one stuck, do not, do not, tell the others, tell the others, we are, we are, Special friends , special friends•” the roots under the ground were rising slowly through the ground , the inky blackness reaching for the golden angel .

“But I can help you it’s not safe over there—“

“•Be not afraid , be not afraid , you, you, already have , already have, I , I felt your , felt your, little light, little light, I feasted i feasted , tell me, tell me, will there be, will there be, more as you grow ? More as you grow?•”

This strange being had a funny way of talking , but Samuel found it interesting , he was starting to find this whole thing interesting . He’s never had a special friend before .

“Um well my brothers always say that my powers will get easier to use once I get older so I think so, but I’m glad I was able to help you.. are you sure you don’t want to come inside ?” Maybe he could dig at the ground to help those roots get stronger .

“• then I shall wait , then I shall wait, to feast , to feast, I can not, I can not , come inside come inside , not yet , not yet , but , but , I can , I can, give you , give you, a gift , a gift, Samuel, Samuel, my little star, my little star•”

The roots that were slowly rising had reached their target, wrapping around the young ones calves and sliding over his fur and skin higher and higher— Samuel fluttered his wings in surprise as he felt something slither around his body , a shiver of discomfort running down his spine, he didn’t like this but he couldn’t voice why or even understand why he didn’t like it— suddenly a small head poked out of the collar of his robes an wedge shaped orange head , with large beady orange eyes , a forked tongue flicked in and out of its maw , as it kept sliding around his shoulders and settled around his neck.

“What— what are you?” He asked his discomfort forgotten as curiosity at the strange new thing came over , he giggled as he held his arm out the long worm shaped being slithered around it .

“•a special , a special, friend friend , a secret , a secret friend, friend, a gift , a gift , from me, from me, to you, to you, give it, give it , a name , a name , it will, it will, be with you, be with you, always, always ,when I , when I , can’t be, can’t be•” the little Angel would need them in time for now they would make sure they could be trusted .

Samuel looked down at the smooth scales and beautiful color , and the S shape it seemed to make like a stream .. a winding stream a creeping stream. “.. serpent.. a serpent!. Mmhm snake that’s what you are.. I guess you’ll need a name name though .. “ he thought for a moment .

“Monty!”

Monty hissed and slithered back up his arm and around his neck nuzzling his head against his cheek.

•Monty is a good name• it spoke softly and slowly as of trying to get the hang of communicating for the first time .

“Woah!” He never met a creature that could talk back to him. He looked back to see his shadowy friend but it was gone … Just the vast Emptiness.

“Come on Monty you’re gonna be my first friend ! “ Samuel got up from the spot he was kneeling down at , the black roots slowly falling away from him and sinking back into the garden .

The sapling producing its first flower as he walked past .

No one really questioned where the snake came from , just wrote it off as one of Samuel’s weird ideas even more so when more of them started to appear in the garden .

No one really noticed the black sapling growing in the edge of the garden either .

Hes facing the council again, their many eyes glaring down at him, judging him — again .

Their stares cut straight into him, and he did not blame them what was happening right now in Eden on earth , this was not what he planned but he was so sure he could fix it , They just needed to listen to him for once .

His followers were just outside the chambers restless and worried he had told them to keep calm to not let anyone rile them up, they would expect that — together they would prove them otherwise a peaceful protest of the speakers declaration , of his idea to send them down there as equals with the humans , to show them all they can chose to be good .

Knowledge was a blessing he would prove that.

It almost seemed like any other presentation he had gave if it weren’t for the chains around his wrist tying him to the podium and the heavy guards surrounded him angelic steel spears pointed at him ready to strike at a moments notice .

He was deemed dangerous on virtue of him being a young seraphim- a newly named Virtue and a Morningstar at that — he couldn’t see his brothers among the crowd •They do not care you can’t trust them• a soft voice hissed in his head . Monty was coiled around his shoulders his head nestled against Lucifer’s ear .

He didn’t want to admit that maybe he was right that both of them , Monty and their other friend were right , all his doubts and worries and fears echoed back to him and given more credibility the more he talked to them.

Taking a deep breath he stated his intentions again, “I have respect for the speaker and their announcement but I feel we haven’t considered all sides of this, I-i understand what happened in the garden was bad but please know it was an accident I ( he refused to let Lilith take the fall for this as well ) had no idea it would let in the darkness I would never harm my home on purpose , I just wanted us all of us to be equal , the free will to choose and create ,” he tried to move his hands as he talked , imploring the others to see his side in this to just try and understand , “ we can do such wonders if we are all on the same playing field , Humans and Angels”

—-“This is your idea of equality ? Spreading your type of wrongness everywhere ?— honestly we should have known something was wrong with you the moment the Asteroid incident happened perhaps even before that “ one voice in particular cut through the air — the Angel it belonged to glaring down at him with barely disguised hatred .

Amyel— the overseer of this meeting beside Sera , his many eyes casted their judgement on the seraphim below , Lucifer had always tried to befriend him in some way, they used to be so close . ( at least he thought so) — Amyel was just always a bit frustrated or grumpy that was all .. surely Lucifer could get him to smile.

It never worked but he always tried at least, refusing to give up; and now here they were facing eachother again .

Amyel seemed to relish standing above the higher ranked Angel , his fate in his hands .

“And what is this ‘I ‘ you speak of? From reports it was you and Lilith who offered that apple .. you were always hanging around that defect she should have been tossed out sooner or killed —“

“NO—“ a flash of anger and a tinge of something darker colored Lucifer’s voice , the chains around him were pulled tighter and the spears inches closer to him.

“S-Sorry! Sorry ! I didn’t — she isn’t a defect she’s just—“ like him, different but not lesser for it . He took a deep breath . “She’s my friend but I swear this isn’t her fault “

He had to get to his point soon he could hear something happening outside of the chamber, he needed to make sure his friends were ok .

“Look I want to fix this and I know I can , my solution is for me to leave heaven — entirely I’ll go to earth among the humans , I’ll find Lilith and together we can show them all the light , we can fix this and keep the darkness from spreading .. I know .. “ ———-he faltered could he finally admit this outloud to everyone , what other choice did he have , “ I know I don’t belong here you are right Amyel there’s something different about me , so let me go to earth I won’t bother anyone here with myself anymore, but I will help the humans and I will fix this mistake .”

His statement was met with murmurs and odd looks it seems they might be considering the option.

“M-my followers my friends they agree with me we all just want to live on earth as equals that’s it to serve humans as equals I’m not saying the speaker was wrong but there’s another way of looking at their statement “

Would this work? Is it working ? Was he finally getting through to them? Would they not have to resort to the back up plans Him And Temperance made in case everything went south ?

Amyel stood up from his seat casting a hand out for silence —

“You want us , to send a powerful seraphim mind you not a power or a cherub or even a simple lesser but a seraphim down to earth with all your power to live as equals amongst… these humans ?” He scoffed .

“And what’s to stop you from using your powers to rally humans Against us or just make them worship you by making everything for them.. you are young and with so much power it’s easy for you to be stupid with it. “ Amyel clenched his hands into a fist, that power given to someone so young and so .. so undeserving simply cause it was a Morningstar , and how did he use that power by making stupid creatures and outlandish ideas . That power should be his.

“I’ll give it up-“ the words casted silence upon the chambers .

Amyel’s eyes widen before the gears started to turn in his head .

“You .. what ?”

Lucifer could feel his light soul thrum loudly in his chest , to give up his powers , his joy of creation, he was creation itself, to have it taken away would nearly break him, to lose so much of yourself and Yet his dreams and Lilith were worth it . He could survive if he could be with her .

“I will give them up before the council if you allow me and mine to go I will give up my powers my ability to create I’ll live as a human “

Whatever was happening outside was starting to get a bit louder — he was getting more worried .

He glanced towards the door only to have something grab his chin and jerk his head back forward — he found himself looking up wide eyed at Amyel the other’s grip tight enough to make his bones creak .

“You are willing to give up your powers all of them … just to go play amongst the humans ?”

There was an edge of something to his voice , a sort of greedy hysteria that frightened Lucifer .

“Y-yes .”—

By now others have noticed the noises from the other side of the door scuffling ? A fight ?

“You’ll give them to me all of them to me” Amyel ordered not letting Lucifer go .

“W-what ? Why would I ever give them to you?” There was no malice or shock in his word but a simple question . “I’d give them back to father , he gave them to me in the first place .. “ maybe the act would even get him to finally talk to them again to make an appearance he missed him and their talks . —“ I’m sure if you ask him—“

It happened fast so fast he didn’t even see Amyel pull his hand back one second he was talking to him the next burning and blinding Light struck him so hard across the face he was thrown to the ground the chains cutting into his arms before the snapped from the force of him falling to the side .

At first the pain didn’t register shock slithering its way through his body but when it did .. oh when he realized he was lost in a pained darkness—- he screamed .

It was overshadowed by a cry of alarm a fight a battle was taking place — it was all going wrong, what was a peaceful protest turned into a deadly rebellion, his followers needed their general .

Hands many hands were grabbing at him, he couldn’t see , hot golden blood covered his face and the ground he was on, he was frightened , what was happening why why was he hurt ? He said something wrong didn’t he, he did something wrong again.

He had to help his friends — “let go.. let go LET GO!” He struck out wildly feeling his clawed hands sink into something soft and yielding with ease, as well as a blast of his power ratting the chambers and cracking it apart - a guard had fallen by his hand many others by his blast of power , the chambers themselves were a wreck. He had killed one of his own , the blood staining his once pristine hands .

Not that he could see this as someone else had tackled him, his halo being gripped before the floor met his head in a few violent and painful meetings each hit rattling something inside of him so much he couldn’t focus where was he what was happening pain pain pain pain it hurt it hurt .. no one was helping him.

Monty was right no one cared .

He couldn’t breathe suddenly a hand had wrapped around his throat like a vice “Remember this voice Lucifer in your nightmares , remember this pain you caused it, all of this is your fault you are parasite a mistake , you aren’t special you never were, that’s just something your stupid brothers told you , to make you feel better about yourself —cause you came out wrong”

And then blinding pain like none he ever felt before as his Halo was suddenly snapped in half and yanked violently from his already bleeding body .

•i told you , told you , you couldn’t trust any of them come find me little bird, little star your family will leave you to die I will take you to new heights the likes of which you will not believe•

It was all to much—-

Darkness has taken root in Creation , in him and it spread unchecked , out from his heart to every part of him as he kicked Amyel off of him and twisted and cracked his form changing as She took over .

Monty slithered over his bloodied face using Roo’s powers to heal Lucifer’s eyes as quickly as he could giving him pieces of his own— Serpent eyes . —

Before taking his proper place as New hybrid’s halo .

The Nightmares pawed the dusty ground — he could sense their nervousness, even though he was more then a few heads shorter then them they were all wary of his presence , of the predator among them;

Their riders did their job keeping them steady, they were bred for this after all , war , conquest, being in the presence of great demons and flashing blades and infernal magic .

The beasts bow there head before him, adherence to The Dragon —

Lucifer walks among his army , his legions , (through they are under yje goetia they all belong to him— everything here as his or will he soon. ) and inspects them .

His light golden hair swirling to the side in the hot wind of the scorched plains of Hell — in front of them a Valley pass that would later become the entrance to Gluttony once they got rid of the pesky rival factions and armies of the damned who refused to kneel before the dragon .

He could have easily wiped them out — but his advisor a Goetia king by the name of Paimon insisted this was not a job for a emperor .

It wouldn’t stop him from offering the troops moral support by being there of course — he refused to fully leave his armies to face something truly alone he won’t have a repeat of the heavenly of rebellion .

Job: overseer of Demonic activity on earth and Alerts the heavenly legions . / part of the council that banished Lucifer .

Bio: He was there in the beginning , part of the council that saw Lucifer’s fall and rebellion. He saw all that power all that raw god blessed power in the hands of a young idiot dreamer who was too busy making stupid animals when he could have been creating whole worlds and cosmos ! It wasn’t fair .. this fledgling was so much stronger than him… was closer to the father than him?! It wasn’t fair. And then the idiot just wanted to throw it all away for a human , to be one of those humans - he couldn’t let that happen he wouldn’t let that power that chance pass him up again.

He would do anything to keep heaven safe and grant himself that power that should have been his to begin with.

— he was the one that Broke Lucifer’s halo when the other expressed he wanted to leave heaven and become a human , so angry that he was throwing away all that power for a human.

— He also is the reason Lucifer can no longer see the stars having damaged his original eyes .

— in the silent king verse he and his subordinates makes Lucifer Mute .

He still wears Lucifer’s Broken Halo on his wrists as a means to boost power and cause he’s a dick , a war trophy .

He’s has a huge inferiority complex, and is a very jealous bitter angel . Ruthless when it comes to heaven and what he wants. Although he hides it very very well.

He wants power he believes he should have that power.

Lucifer — Sea dragon type merman , Raphael ( @derelictdread ) a Manta Ray type Merman) , — Lucifer lives away from his territory in area called the “Black Sea” , his own little domain that is often overfished and polluted by humans , yet he refuses to leave not wanting to be known as the sea dragon who was driven out by humans ( he’s prideful that way ) he does his best to get more fish into the area and survive off of what’s left .

Sadly this does not diminish his love and curiosity of the humans and their strange objects - he’s fascinated by them and wears a plastic bag as a crop top and has a plastic soda ring stuck to his tail. He says he’s fine with it and it’s his good luck charm- is to proud to admit it’s stuck and he can’t get it off .

He will visit others a lot though when he can’t find enough food or just to visit often showing off his newest treasures from sunken ships and bags of trash thrown in the ocean .

Will eat anything due to lack of food in his area including human flesh, his powers are hypnotic eyes and alluring voice , can create riptides , and sneaker waves .

The darkness becomes bright once you settle in—- there’s shades to it, soft and hard to notice but there there , Samuel’s been able to notice All these things while out in the field ——

The darkness has a strange beauty to it , He notes , the hiding of potential, ideas spring to mind of creatures that could live in it , finding their way through it like he is now, pinging soft rays of sound out to the vast darkness to get a small lay out of the area —

Contrary to what others might say the landscape isn’t just nothingness ( that’s how they trap you) it’s got actual shape and form and pitfalls , and hills and valleys - he marks all this down in his book, vital information to help his brother’s armies — doing his part of course as was expected of him as a Morningstar—even if part of him was still scared something he would never admit ;

After marking where the edge of a chasm was , the fur along his spine and the back of his neck bristles slightly , his ears perk up something was watching him— a different sorta watch then the usual smallish beings that scitter about the dark .

This is accompanied by the familiar feeling of her — was she was lingering about perhaps ? —

No this feeling is different somehow it’s like her but not — it stirs something inside him—

A movement .. an urge .. a feeling ? Could this be a feeling ?

Golden eyes scan the darkness seeing through it as if it were a darken cloudy day — his hand reaches for his sword the one gifted to him by his father—

What was this feeling — it felt like his fire but hotter.. it boiled and churned like the liquid fire they placed Deep in the ground it rolled inside him , why? Why? What was this ?! ——

He froze ; his eyes locking on to the other set across the way- red as fire, red as blood - red as… Hate .

Oh , Oh - how much did he Hate , it was innumerable, it was unfathomable , This .. this this was the feeling —- This euphoric Hate , spilled through him like the liquid magma seeping through the ground of their experimental land .

And what joy, what sheer relief it was that this feeling this new terrible, exciting feeling was mutual. He could sense it .

His hand grasped the light bringer and in a swift practiced movement —lessons from the eldest sibling —- he brought it out to strike gone was the mission , gone was the need to be hidden to be stealthy.

All was hate all was burning fire all was the being in front of him.

•Urizen• the name was ruptured into his brain with the gentleness of a drunken lobotomy .

Urizen grinned at him — eyes on fire with mutual hatred and a need to fight , it would meet sword with claw it would — No — no no what was pulling it back ?!— how dare she HOW DARE SHE RIP IT FROM ITS PRIZE —-

As quickly as it appeared it was gone pulled under to simmer and fester like the heat under the earth .

Samuel was left shaken and panting wings flared his light a bright beacon in the dark, he was left exposed and raw , what .. what had happened?

What was that emotion .. why did it move through him so easily ? Why did it leave him feeling so … hollowed out ?

A screech to his left drew his attention — a headless , godless being was advancing on him fast — “shoot!” With a flick of his wrist he cleaved it on two , the burning light of his sword slicing through the dark like steel through water.

“What are you going to do with it ?” the question was asked towards the tall rugged man currently leaning on a golden crutch for support — he was of a leaned muscled nature but not obsessively so, as well as he was covered bandages and had a slight limp but then again so did nearly everyone else, it was the aftermath of the insurrection , of the rebellion , of what was supposed to be Amyel’s ticket to the top, all his hard work, all his long nights — would have paid off,

His long days of clearing a path for that disgusting worm to slither further around the darling star of heaven

— of dismissing the young Morningstar’s concerns and questions as not important, it’s just a phase Sam, everyone has fears like that, it’s just a nightmare it’s not important , your aren’t special , you’re just young , it’s not important , no don’t bother your brothers about this can’t you see they have more important things to do rather then deal with you? —

It’s all in your head kid .

And Then it all came to a head — he had hoped the thing would just take the little blight and he could collect the left overs- grab the power that way , he had no idea it would explode like this — and yet it was still perfect he could use this to his advantage somehow —-

And that little shit still found a way to ruin it — refusing to give him his power — all he had to do was say yes and he would have made the transfer painless a snapped neck and then a hand through his heart — and that power that prestige would be his and it would finally be in the hands of someone who would use it to its full purpose . —

But no the little parasite tried to block him from that power .. purposefully giving it away to someone other then him— a personal slight — He knew that little upstart hated him — how dare he how dare he how dare he!!—

Well he got his revenge in the end didn’t he , how satisfying it was to finally have an excuse to blast him across the face blast that smug look off his face as Lucifer Denied him his right — again .

Oh that would be a sight that would keep him warm for eons to come - his rival, his enemy laid low before him screaming .

Although him and the others were unprepared for what happens next he lost an eye to that brat — still it worked out in the end - everyone played their parts perfectly .

The eldest Morningstar barely asking questions just action — whatever talk him and the youngest had during their battles barely amounted to anything it seems , the middle Morningstar Azarel doing their job perfectly all that death seemed to have broke them made the even more strange — he had caught the other muttering about something as they collected blood from the floor but he could care less all that mattered was his rival was dead and with his heart gone and Amyel now in passion of the halo that power would—-

“I heard he’s not dead you know “ Ranel his Ranel, was talking to some council room guard, “struck down yes and thrown into the pit but apparently our great warrior didn’t kill him, It’s God’s gift he was able to still be full of mercy to Something so evil don’t you think?” She smiled .

Amyel clenched the shattered and blood stained broken halves of the Halo in his hand so hard it dug into his Palm. — how ?! .. how !!?? he was supposed to have Killed him?! —

What was it About Morningstars that made them constantly defy their roles — stop— he was calm he was collected he was a professional, he could still feel some power from the broken ring,.

This was far from a lost cause — nope just a minor set back , He could work with this after all with the parasite alive it just ment more opportunities for him to finally take his heart .

“My love did you hear me?—“Ranel was at his side again a hand pressed against his arm. He hadn’t noticed her — to busy with more important things.

She was concerned as usual and endearingly foolish as ever — he would help her rise through the ranks after all every powerful being needed their equal .

“ Yes I did,” his reply was short and curt — before softening . “I believe my love I deserve a war trophy don’t you think we all just survived a horrible Ordeal that none of us saw coming “ he placed the broken halves on each of his wrist using his power to keep them affixed on him.

“Of course you do, it was a horrible battle I heard , many didn’t make it back.” She pressed gently at his side .
