everyone else in their group, family, whatever, is always included, always remembered, always invited to everything. meanwhile one person, character A, constantly gets left out. not because they're mean, or have done something awful. just because

character A doesn't know why, bc they haven't done anything 2 logically have ppl want 2 treat them that way. either character A is 2 scared/nervous/anxious 2 say anything abt it, or the ppl who constantly exclude them either claim they dont, &/or just dont want 2 talk to character A

& this fucks up character A's mental health

character A thinks theres something wrong with them, or is in denial that they get treated differently, or whatever. & character A cries themselves 2 sleep at night, wondering why ppl act like they arent there, whats wrong with them, etc

maybe, character A doesnt have anyone 2 comfort them abt that, or nobody but character A knows, bc theyre 2 ashamed or embarrassed, or 2 in denial 2 say anything. so those insecuritys grow & fester, & make character A think so low of themselves

maybe character A wasnt always treated that way? maybe character A used 2 talk a lot, & have a lot of confidence, & always get included. but then, as time went on & ppl started acting like character A simply, wasnt there, they started acting differently
