I've been getting back into comics while I wait for more info from my concept job, and I thought I'd make a post about something very important to me, which is COMIC PANEL VARIATION and HOW TO THINK ABOUT IT.

Also, yes, before you ask, these rules can absolutely be broken. I strategically break them to create a noticeable shift or flow in the storytelling, like so:

you say thine if the next word starts with a vowel and thy if the next word starts with a consonant and they both mean "your" so "thine own shoes," "thy shoes," okay?

if you're looking for a site to skim through for new stations, internet-radio is pretty handy these days, as is fmstream. for more specific stations, to drop a few at random,

Fantasy Radio - italodisco, generally speaking. trends older, as comes with the territory

ampedOut - industrial + noise + EBM + IBM

Radio Horyzont - chill and ambient mostly

Jungletrain - jungle + dnb

Different Drumz - double up on dnb

Numanme Radio - new wave and stuff that's close enough to where you won't get in much trouble for calling it new wave

Moon Mission - ken sekiguchi's techno/trance/electro/etc radio

DKFM - shoegaze of several varieties

funkot.net - are! you! reaaaaaady!

SomaFM - a bunch of variety stations in a trenchcoat pretending to be one station, there's something of interest to basically everyone here

VKNET Radio - normal radio, but the name should tip you off to the vibe here

asia DREAM radio - there's some good variety here, but if you're into japanese hip hop and jrock, it's a mandatory peep

Sanctuary Radio - dark electro and other mallgoth fun

I have been TRYING to find the name of the brands of cel paint(s) used in the 80s and 90s so I can find a color sheet for the ideal limited pallet to draw from for good good fake screenshots. I’ve seen Animex and Toei Animation Paints listed but I can’t trust that these are the accurate or only brands of the era. It’s totally possible that the paints used were from now defunct companies. I see a mention of Nicker paints used on backgrounds of Ghibli movies and other series ア-トセル or art cel paints seems to be a brand. Cel Vinyl Paints are listed for Disney in the late 80s with custom paints beforehand
