And when Buck is covered in Eddie’s blood in that elevator and Eddie has gone limp in his arms and the wound isn’t bleeding so much anymore because it’s already all over the floor and soaked into Buck’s hands and dried against his skin and his clothes and then Eddie’s eyes flutter open just enough and he looks at Buck like he’s trying to memorize him and somehow still manages to whisper “you look like hell” and Buck breaks completely and wipes the tears off Eddie’s cheeks with shaking hands and doesn’t bother wiping his own when he chokes out “you should see the other guy” WHAT THEN????

I was thinking about eddie's arc this season and how I think the shooting will affect him this time around while trying to fall asleep and I had a thought that had me sitting up straight in bed. eddie and his season of loaded looks, active avoidance of women, and losing grasp of his composure over buck. eddie in the finale, having been shot once again and being closer to death than he's been since s4. ryan guzman's suggestion of what song will describe the end of the season. "I don't want to wait for our lives to be over." I think. I think this is it.
