Cardio or Weight training is best for sustainable weight loss?
As you see in this picture, my trip to Vegas was not absent of yummy foods loaded with sat, butter, oils, etc. With that said, cardio is a great SHORT TERM workout plan to reduce water weight, bloating, or to kick start your fitness lifestyle change 🏃🏼♀️ As I struggle to buckle my pants, cardio workouts will be my focus the next 4 days 😂
Weight training is the best LONG TERM with muscles requiring more energy stimulating your metabolism (can eat MORE) and maintaining weight loss. There’s many more benefits to weight lifting like improved posture, increase bone density, better sleep, etc. but I won’t touch on the rest in depth.
Overall a good balance between Cardio and Weight training is undoubtedly the best! If you are starting a consistent workout schedule with “weight loss” as your goal, leaning more towards cardio is a good start. Eventually, you do want to incorporate weights to help sustain your goal weight.
Side note: weights WILL NOT make you bulky ladies! If you do put more weight on from weights, you may need to look at your food portions.
Hope this clears up any questions you had on choosing the best type of workouts to support achieving/maintaining your goal weight!
