Hello! My name’s exceptformarvin! I usually go by Wil online, but you can call me anything really. If Marvin’s easier to remember, that works, or just anything (appropriate). I use she/her pronouns and am cisfem, as well as currently identifying as aroace

I’m really into musicals (Falsettos, Next to Normal, Tuck Everlasting, Newsies, Something Rotten, Hadestown, Spring Awakening, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), Dead Poets Society, Stranger Things, MCYT (I’m watching Hermitcraft from Grian’s POV atm, and I’ve been getting back into Empires SMP s1 too!), cosplay (I think my favorite I’ve done so far is Jesper from soc or Chip from 25apcsb, my next cosplay plans are Neil from dps as Puck, Scott from esmp s1, and possibly someone from disadventure camp I’m not sure), Six of Crows/Shadow & Bone, and Kandi-making!

so- I am VERY near sighted and wear glasses all the time except when I’m in water or sleeping or whatever. I also happen to make stuff out of perler/hama beads. So I’ve found that what I can do when I’m not really able to see my final product for my beads is I can take off my glasses and move kinda far away, and then I’ll be able to see what it looks like when it’s ironed

it’s pride month, so I decided to finally put my experiences into words in hopes someone would feel similarly. For about 3ish years of my life now, I’ve identified more or less as aroace. However, I’ve always preferred to tack a “questioning” label in front of it. In my experience, a lot of people I know have kind of described attraction as something you just know. And so I identify as aroace (specifically questioning aroace) because I just don’t know. I’ve still got a lot of my life ahead of me. I just don’t know. And a part of me knows that this feeling I have that I should stay identifying as “questioning” could come from the mentality that I’m “just young, and I’ll find the right person later on”, which makes me upset. However, my knowledge of this just pushes me more into my “questioning” label. I would hate to accidentally conform to the stereotype of identifying as aroace, only to be swept off my feet by someone or some stupid thing like that.

I am aware I’m listening to voices of conformity, and thus conforming myself so as to not conform to a stereotype.

I hate it.

I try to reassure myself that labels change, and that it’s okay if I discover something about myself that changes my label later on. Because labels are just that. But I don’t like change. And so I struggle to label myself. However, I feel the need for labels because if I tell someone I’m unlabeled or generally queer, the automatic assumption is that I’m attracted to different types of people and so I choose not to label myself—and I don’t want people to assume that I’m open to a relationship. I am not. Which is why I just refer to myself as aroace.
