Or that soup last week turned out so well, should I make the same kind again or will I get sick of it?

You will be a Soup Adult someday, a Lamps Adult. It will feel like the bad times are right behind you, so close you could reach back and touch them, but they will stop following you one day. You will have a little space to yourself where the world is not always on fire, not so long as you have the pictures you hung yourself, and the little plates with the pattern you like, and your plants and your lamps and your soup.
