The tv playing ‘and then crashed’ while rose looks at the photo(? Drawing?) of felix by his car w jack handing Edd and Molly to him and also ‘those in the prowling(?) are rats’ possibly reflecting Rose seeing Felix as a rat

Rose tried killing herself via drowning in the lake that she saw Jack do it in

Rose painting Felix dead, telling Chris about it before asking ‘what if it was you in those drawings?’ Andrea trying to strangle Dereck because of the anger in grief

She perceives Felix as the wolf hurting her two babies before seeing herself as the wolf after accidentally hurting Sophie

Edd and Molly are seen not being scared of felix when he approaches in Rose’s art despite him being an evil wolf, possibly representing how while rose sees what he is now, to Edd and Molly they saw another sheep

Sophie mentions to Jack that she doesn’t feel anything over Edd and Molly, thinking they’re just on a trip away somewhere and will come back

Jack had a black suit on when he left. Not red like the missing poster says. This shows roses mental deterioration esp bc jacks fav color was red

Rose tries to attack Sophie over playing the videos (possibly due to seeing Felix happy, which makes Sophie happy because it’s reminds her of a time when they all felt good)

Sophie DOES live with Laura, and also doesn’t see Rose’s death (what are the pills for then???)

Susan and Jack specifically standing behind rose toward the end (she saw Susan and Charles before, now he’s gone?) no idea if this is important or not just something I wanna note since Charles dies in 6..

Jack seemingly crashes out, ripping up

Sophie’s drawing of him, and throwing stuff in his office (unless this again is a hallucination/dream of Rose?)

Edd is the only one to say something to rose when he first sees her, Molly is silent

Rose crashes out immediately at the thought of Laura taking Soph (When Laura says Soph can live with her in Howell it sounds like hell, possibly what rose thinks it would be like for Sophie there)

‘Bon’ is twisting what he’s really doing in his story making it seem like a good thing

‘Bon’ seems to want to control his urge to kill?? More Jack = Bon evidence i GUESS (possibly he feels more for rose since if his memory DID get fucked up like I think he remembers loving rose at some point?)

Edd and Mollys bodies WERE never found meaning I was right the caskets are empty (rose writes about this calling it ‘mockery’)

Sophie feels distant from Rose after, and was scared almost immediately of her (as seen when she talks to Jack)

Sophie is forced to be surrounded by her dad’s missing poster, similar to how her mom feels (literal vs emotional/metaphorical)

Angel Sophie talked to is possibly ‘Bon’? He mentions how he can fix Rose a LOT so it would make sense bc he said he could ‘help them’ to Sophie..

We can see what is clearly Felix’s dark presence behind Rose as she walks deeper into Bon’s (he also refuses to let cops in after screaming was heard, possibly so someone else could clean it up? Or maybe he’s just a baby and knew they wouldn’t find anything)

Felix refused to properly answer any questions, probably bc he knows he’d get executed for that shit (also he seems to want to hide himself.. the glasses hide his eyes, possibly he grabbed actual sunglasses instead?)

Felix slept at the restaurant?!? (Probably not, probably just another lie to try and get Dereck on his side)

Felix swears that Rose is his friend and ‘everybody else’ pissing Dereck ALL the way off because he won’t even say their names or TRY looking (and also hindered the investigation with Rose)..

Jack didn’t press charges (Rose let Jack take care of the charges but is angry at him and upset bc he didn’t press charges..)

More evidence Jack killed himself.. or got murdered and was scared??? Maybe the ‘I’m sorry’ is because he’s essentially letting Felix kill him? The phone cord is detached so maybe she’s hallucinating and just thinks he killed himself? Maybe this is why Sophie is so scared, the phone is clearly unplugged to her?

Dereck was EXTREMELY sweet to Sophie, contrasting his anger at Felix

Rose destroyed her art after Jack scribbling all over it (it’s important to not she scribble the fuck out of HER face too in the jackmary drawing but didn’t target Sophie, possibly showing she doesn’t think Sophie has gone through any real mental deterioration? It can’t just be death since she scribbled over her own face?)

Rose gets thinner.. maybe from not eating due to being grief stricken like Sophie?

Rose kind of knew Jack in HS, really knew him in college, after a while she started studying film because of him

Rose dies the same day as her proposal day.. possibly why she was grief stricken? This would make sense bc she saw the wedding not that long ago w the July 19 date (not wedding, I don’t think?? She says he proposed then in her diary, maybe the wedding video is just a little off?) (maybe it meant they were married a year after?? Which means they REALLY were tryna have a baby bros ain’t waste NO time after proposal)

Rose wasn’t invited to her mom’s funeral which annoys her that she only found out her mom died AFTER the funeral. Rose doesn’t really care abt this loss.. she immediately goes insane over Edd n Molly.. it’s said Jack hasn’t experienced loss atp and Sophie probably hasn’t by Edd n Molly’s deaths n they both don’t care.. possibly showing grief is worse the second time around? Maybe she feels like her entire world is collapsing in on itself? Rose doesn’t want to be like her mother.. (possibly part of why she didn’t care as bad?)

she drew her family a lot after they had kids as seen in her diary

Jack doesn’t say anything really after Edd and Molly about them apparently (according to Rose’s diary)

Sophie stops eating as much post funeral, noted by Rose in her diary

Jack tried to be better with Sophie after the crash, being noted by Rose again

Rose hates Jack for abandoning her but crosses it out and says she’s sorry and loves him

Rose describes Edd and Molly calling for her but not being able to find her.. possibly because she hopes they still want her in the afterlife?

Rose seemingly hallucinating (or dreaming?) everything being okay, based on her having a dinner post Jack’s disappearance with him and Edd and Molly

Rose hates the light now describing it as mocking her and laughing at her, possibly part of why she liked the art room, it had no windows, no natural light so she controlled it

She doesn’t finish her second to last journal entry just ending midway through a word (possibly before she walks up to the attic?)

Her last entry is just a simple ‘happy anniversary.’ Possibly after she left the attic she wrote this in a hurry?

There’s a bunch of empty pages then jacks missing poster?? I think?? Unless it means it’s the whole photo of the house??

The camera fucke all the way up w ‘bon’.. he IS SEEN ON CAMERA WHEN THEY LOOK!! W THE GOOD MORNING!! Then the cell is just empty w the door opening.. he fr gave them a middle finger (their stupid for not telling people to look out for a pale bald tall man in a white suit w an image..)

People protested Bon’s, saying there was some ‘BSI killer’, probably referring to Felix, having support groups for the families of the missing workers

After a few days the posters call changed to be fucked up, specifically with jacks face (again messed up face symbolism? Similar to how ‘bon’ has his face messed up in that one scene in 4..)

Felix followed Rose when she went to get killed, probably hiding any evidence after

Rose’s anger at Felix is very similar to how I responded to being SA’d by a teacher, wanting him dead and using art as a form to let that anger out, similarly I showed myself killing him which she DOES do

Jack hid his emotions of grief, probably because he saw how scared Sophie and Rose were

Bon hiding Edd n Molly from roses death, furthering my ‘Jack is Bon his memory just got fucked theory since he would be able to remember Rose and DOES know it’s Edd and Molly’s mom, possibly trying to protect them for that reason

The ‘am I still beautiful to you, Sophie?’ Possibly being because of how bad she was to Sophie towards the end of her life.. also because sha is all broken and that’s what Bon said made her beautiful pre sha being all fucked up

She disappeared into the forest similar to Sha in BunnyFarm, and did essentially play hide and seek w the cops.

The end of the secret video has little kids saying mom as Sophie grabs the pills.. bc she forgot mostly about Rose..

Rose is associated with sheep a lot, and is probably put in Sha (‘Bon’ is very meticulous and probably thought her death out) because she followed him like a sheep.. Billy WAS there too but he specifically chose Sha..

Rose dancing with Bon while audio seemingly shows he’s the first one she drew for the restaurant and Jack loved him

Rosemary possibly imitating her mom when grief stricken (maybe her dad died when she was young? This would explain her mom being similar to how she is with loss..)

Jack Walten's way of trying to move on from Edd and Molly's deaths is really fascinating to me and kinda hits home in a lot of ways.

Like.... it's pretty apparent that he's not taking it well either. His whole talk with Sophie about them being "strong" because their expressions of grief, trying to move forward and being numb respectively, really expresses how much he's trying to avoid his actual feelings. He's so deep in the gender norm of being the strong "man of the house" that it's obviously eating him inside. The way his eyes get shadowed during the whole "Grief is an illness" speech immediately screams that he's FEELING the same pain as Rosemary, but tragically keeps that vulnerability hidden because he thinks it's what the family needs.... someone strong they can rely on.... until they aren't able to anymore....

I feel like it's also important to acknowledge that while Jack's repressed pain explains the way he talks about Rosemary's (VERY VALID) expression of grief, it obviously doesn't make it right. Jack is not abusive towards his family and obviously still cares so deeply for both Rosemary and Sophie, but it's very clear that he's still a man trying to create a sense of normalcy after the most heartbreaking thing a parent can ever face has occurred. Because of this, his definitely unintentional belittlement of Rosemary comes across as him not being outwardly hostile but rather being a father who doesn't really know how to talk about these things while he himself is handling it in a way that is possibly not really helping.

Let me put this into perspective:

You have a loving husband with loving kids, and you work as the designer in your husband and his co-founder's business. The school dance for your two youngest children is coming up, but you can't take them to the dance because your oldest child has a dentist appointment. Felix, the co-founder of your husband's business, decides to drop off of your kids instead. But, after that night, your kids never came back home.

After that, it seems like life can never be the same again. You hate Felix with all your heart, but for some reason, your husband doesn't want to press charges on him. Then, one day, your husband goes missing. You don't know why, but you as if he has abandoned you and your only child left.

All of this is happening while you get fired by the man who quite literally killed most of your children. And, he gets to go scott-free.

I'm pretty sure that anyone who would be in Rose's position would go bonkers. Not to mention, grief can change people for the worst.

The two are stories are of Rosemary but one is made by her own volition while the other is narrated and made by Bon. While Rosemary did want Bon to 'fix' her remember she was delirious, exhausted and given all that, she believed what she was seeing infront of her wasn't real but the promise of a way to fix her identity, her ruined 'canvas' and make it new made her hopeful that she fell prey to Bon's manipulation.

In Faces of grief, Rose is narrating the story through different phases, the sheep feeling helpless as the wolf had the children killed, her wanting to kill the wolf and being angry at it. All the visuals are through her lens of grief and anger.

In Faces of bliss, Bon narrates the story and while they're going through different phases he's hacking her limbs off and making her 'beautiful' and thus, enacting the story of the sheep finding a different home and reality in real time.

Rosemary agreed to a better version of herself out of desperation and hope after enduring one of the most awfully scenarios I could have ever imagined for any human being, but she also got lured into Bon's version of the story not knowing what he'd do to her. In the end her hesitancy is seen in the 'I am happy' narration with Bon.

God, Martin walls when I fucking catch you aghhhhhh. This episodes was just.... mind-blowing.

In the film, Faces of grief the clouds look like Edd and Molly surprised in the beginning.

Also did someone notice how Bon was acting different with Rose?

With Susan he was charming, saying he'd been in the same situation she was in and that he understood how she felt. But also told her, she doesn't have to do as he says. Kind of like giving her a choice. A false one but yeah.

To Rose, he says 'Oh please just let me fix you.' and he even acts a little more dramatic and emotional intelligence his dialogue. He holds her and comforts her, probably cuz she has lost a lot. Maybe, acting like Jack in a way?

Did anyone notice, that in the beginning he almost looks like somewhat happy or like he's adoring her? Putting his face in his hands, looking at her happily saying 'Oh, you! What would I do without you!'
