After a mission, Wade finds a missing call from Peter. He returns the call not thinking much of it until there’s no response back. He’s sure that Peter is out doing Spider-man things, he usually goes on patrol around this time anyways. Yet he still can’t shake this feeling that something’s wrong.

He decides to search around to find him and doesn’t see any signs of the web swinger. Spider-Man is strong. He can hold his own in a fight. Hell, he’s even been able to take down Deadpool a few times. Worry floods Wades mind as he continues his search, trying to reassure himself that spideys okay.

Finally he stops at Pete’s apartment, seeing a sign of webs on the window. Bingo. He must’ve just gotten home earlier than usual. Wade climbs up the ladder and opens the window that’s already ajar. “Sweet tums! I’ve been looking everywhere for you-” he looks around the dark apartment only to notice moments later Peter’s bloody body across the floor. It’s a gnarly sight. His side impaled with an object and bullet wounds on his chest. He could barely see his face, all beat and bloody.

Wade feels his heart drop and an overwhelming feeling of nausea. He’s seen worse, honestly. In his line of business there’s barely anything that affects him anymore. But he’s never seen spidey like this. He runs to his side and tries to wipe off some of the blood off his face and look at his eyes. “Petey” he breathes. “Hey, hey I’m here. I’m here Pete I’ll get you help just stay with me” no response. Wade gently picks up Peter, hugging him close to his chest with shaky arms. His body is cold against his. Too cold. Peter always ran cold and would try to huddle against Wade’s warm body. Too embarrassed to ever ask so he’d silently get closer to him. Wade never minded.

Despite Peter’s nonexistent heartbeat and breath. Wade convinces himself that Peter will be okay. Spider-Man has fought enemies bigger than himself, what happened?? Surely he’d be fine. He has a healing factor of his own. Sure it’s not the same as Wade’s, but he can’t go now. Sooner or later Deadpool would have to deal his own immortality and face his loved ones deaths. But not now. It’s too soon.

Wade himself had died.. on multiple occasions. So much so that he’d befriended lady death herself. Nice lady. He pulled out his gun, staring intensely as an idea started brewing inside his head. Maybe it was a drastic decision but it’s not like he’d stay dead anyways.

Before he knows it he’s in the afterlife. Lady death is used to Wade coming to visit, but noticed something’s wrong when he’s not his usual unserious self. After begging and pleading he asks for her to bring Peter back. Willing to give anything to have him again, even if it’s not forever.

Peter opens his eyes, gasping at the agonizing pain all over his body. He groans as he tries to lift up his arms to feel his own body. He can’t remember much.. everything seemed like a blur. He was fighting someone and then.. and then.. Peter darts his eyes to the corner seeing Deadpool with his brains out. Jumpscare. Despite the pain he tries to reach out to him. “W-Wade….” he manages to say breathing out. His chest feels like a building fell on them. Peter knows Wade comes back. He always does. But it doesn’t make it any easier to see him dead. Especially in such a brutal way.

After a few minutes Wade is back. His eyes meet with Peter. Life back in his eyes. His breathing is a little slow. Taking breaths in feels too painful to do normally. Wade reaches out to Peter. “Peter…” he feels a wave of relief crashing down on him it almost hurts. He touches Peter’s face, caressing him gently and smiles. “Baby boy, you’re back..”
