I know I am VERY inactive with this blog but I’ve been spending a lot of time rereading the stories of baby Evey and having this little piece of her has been helpful for our grief. I’d like to share a little more.

On February 22nd, 2026, we said goodbye to our heart and soul dog, Evey. It’s taken me some time to write this because there are no amount of pictures or words that could possibly describe how beautiful our life was with her. I don’t know how I’ll ever find the words to truly honor her memory or convey the depth of our love.
She was authoritative, energetic, and smart but most of all she was a joy. She radiated it and shared it in abundance with everyone she met. She waterboarded Chris and I with kisses. She loved my child as if he was her own. She licked Charlies ears every night. And she helped timid puppy mill fosters understand the meaning of being a dog. She truly, deeply, fully loved us and made it known every day.
She was my support system. There were periods of my life where I felt completely alone but at least she was there by side. I’ll never forget how she would wake up with me and stay by my side through every overnight feeding when I was in the throes of new motherhood or how she put on a brave face for us until the very end. She never judged or tried to fix me. She would just be there and I was cured.
She was everything to us. She filled every nook and cranny of our lives and made it whole. I feel so lucky I got the spend life with you. I love you, girly.
