Peach Blossom Teaches Black Sapphire He Needs To Have Some Humility/Be More Open. And Black Sapphire Teaches Blossom How To Do Magic And Have Fun :>
I love the teaching factor, although given sapphires deceitful nature i highly doubt peach blossom would be learning anything.
Both characters serve a beast as one of their main traits, sapphire a much more active servant compared to pb who id consider really passive. Infact mystics servants act more as a companions while shadow milks are more so just fans of him. Both are pretty reclusive plotwise usally staying out of the story unless theyre needed for help or such, on the same theme, aswell as being helpful to other charcaters they also both help aif the plot allowing it to move along faster by simply saying the message thats supposed to be conveyed or nore directly acting as a plot device literally addressing the audience to add to the story. This is not something i normally touch on as it is kinda irrelevant but im scrabbling for similarites right now, but they are also pretty similar in appearence feminine and twinkish as some would say. Im mebtuoning this cause how they present themself could also be representative of who they are, infact both of them fit very romantisied beauty standards for the areas and eras their outfits fit into which could give the idea that theyre meant to seem as a bit vain or mabey alluring is a better fit for them which also ties into their feminine traits aswell, feminity often being presented as characters using their allure to lead people astray or alternatively nurture them as a lover or mother (yuck...). Additionally, theyre bith extremely self aware of their sureoundings aswell, pb emassing knowledge over the thousands of years hes been alive for, and sapphire inexplicably just being meta, understanding he is a character in a game yet both still do things abiding to the people they care about, black sapphire even protecting capple and (in this context) acting as a motherly-figure towards her?? Even if his relationship with her is supposed to be inerpretted as brotherly LOL. Feels weird calling sapphire motherly.... its just wrong... Other than these characters not having much screentime or story really, i feel as if the biggest reason i cant find similarites for them is because theyre essentially the same idea for a character beung used to show opposing ideas.
These characters both aim for completely different goals as mentioned, helping others vs helping yourself, this is even emphised in the fact that pb doesnt even follow mystic flour yet still is a faithful servant to her, helping her where he finds it most important whereas sapphire just follows shadow milk blindly - for reasons that arent even that explicit, and is also so ready to just leave smilk behind as soon as things get too messy or complicated. This isnt stated in the game but when it comes to their goals id believe that pb is only doing what he does to help others, completely ignorant to all the good he can have in lieu of wanting to bring people to a better mindset while on the OTHER hand sapphires soul motivation is just to gain power, standing beside a character he believes is the most powerful or going to become such just so that he wont find himself totally rotting in a ditch rather than any actual belief that tethers him specifically to smilk or deciet. Thats just my thoughts tho. Also back to appearences id think that dark colours and hidden face would reresent a more secretive nature even if they clothes he is wearing is more reminiscent of something many people in the 1950s (roughly) would find attractive, i mean even now, looks wise sapphire fits all the attractive charcater requirements, specifically with "tumblr sexy men" although im a firm believer that those are based on lore and personality and way less on appearences. On the other hand, pb is wearing a much more loose and colourful outfit, which can be seen as welcoming, pink and teal being colours often associated with tranquility and timid lovez even the parts of him that are hidden are still being covered with things that are presented as comforting, such as his flowers. I almost forgot to mention the teaching, once again cant see black sapphire teaching anyone anything useful, but i can totally see how he woudnt be adverse to teaching since he kinda already had to do that with capple although i wouldnt consider raising someone as teaching but then id also say the same for pb since he doesnt really do as much teaching as he does guiding, still the difference is just selfless vs selfish.
Dynamically they fit togather quite well, having opposing aspects that also mirror eachother are the most amazing apsects to have in a relationship, it makes youre partner easily understandable while also allowing a different perspective on somthing you are familiar. An example i could give for blackblossom is their knowledge, even if sapphires is metatextual perhaps peach blossom could show him a deeper appreciation for the world hes living in instead of being obsessed with a concept like deciet or power or literally just shadow milk. And as you mentioned, another example could be peach blossom teaching him humility, which kinda coensides with the other point i was making but focuses more on the personal aspects of sapphire rather than just his veiw of the world. Also when it comes to black sapphire teaching blossom about magic and "having fun" in whatever way you could be referring to i dont actually think blossom would be too interested in such things, but if sapphire is twlling it to him with such enthusiam id like to believe hed try and act interested or intrigued by these things sapphire thinks would be useful or fun just to make him happy <3. This being said i dont think pb would necassarily be lying about how he feels or what he thinks about the fun things sapphire wants to do with him, just that he is going along with it, similar to how he does with cloud haetae which also shows hes not adverse to pranks or mischief in anyway which i think is cute. Also the idea of peach blossom urging sapphire to stray away from deciet and try to be more open as a person is a cute idea but also not one i actually see pb persuing, like as a character as passive as he the way he helps people only works if theyre actively searching for said help, similar to the belief that people who dont want to get better wont, and as far as im aware sapphire has no intention of ever backing down from all this and thats something pb would be fine with, i dont think hed see any of these flaws as anything inherently bad or in need of changes, just things that may need redirection in order for bsc to be hapier in himself and what not. Also i realize alot of what i just said is pretty conflicting but to simplify it, pb wouldnt actively strive for sapphire to be more open or less deceitful, but try and redirect those ways of living to something thats ultimately beneficial to sapphire, and id assume lying makes him happy so its benefical in some way.
This is super cute, i lovedddd writing about them, even if my knowledge of them is pretty surface level. But ive been feeling like my writing is totally wack recently...💔 i may just be creatively burntout honestly but nevermind all that. Perosnally i rate this ship an 8/10, very wholesome, i could definetly write more about it but im squashed for today, sorry!
Also this is the part where i admit that i actively ignored most of black sapphires dialogue because he seriously annoyed me, but also where i redeem myslef by saying pbs dialogue is the ONLY thing i read in mystics story. Also dont feel sorry for spam!!!! Ik i said ive gotten alot of asks recently but seriously this accounts dead, every ask is awesome, and i will answer them EVENTUALLY even if thats far from now.
