Wasn’t this just the sign of a bad luck charm? Not even a good minute in and the stakes were being set. Odds were being stacked up and a not so pretty sentence lingered over their heads.
Most would be put away or saying it’s a task all for her own.
Gold though? Right now he had the sheer audacity to just break out into laughter even while being on the run. His running posture wouldn’t falter but the damn look on his face spoke volumes. He realized that it always wound up being the risky scenarios like this that gives him the best kick inside. No damn wonder the law side of things always have to shoot him a grisly side eye.
Their routes would be worked into less their savory territory. Awful smells would linger through the alleyways and serve at least a makeshift mask to throw them off the trail. Right now, it sounds like getting her stuffed to the train route in the underground would be the best way to go. A focused look lingers on the sights ahead while keeping a lookout for a particular door.
“Gotta admit. You sure as hell know how to keep things fresh.”
Once he burst into laughter, it somehow had the effect of relieving her. Why was she so panicked? This wasn’t an unfamiliar situation! It was contagious, and now she found herself with a smirk, her anxiety slipping. Maybe she was so worried because it of how long it had been since she found herself in a situation like this...
Well, she sure was rusty. Especially if she had to employ the help of another.
“Tsk, was there any doubt? You know I’m the most fun to be around compared to everyone else,” she jokingly snided. “Now, where the hell are you taking me?” What a way to say thanks for the help. The smell here was foul, which was her only real gripe with the place. Blue, as one would expect, was more than accustomed to shady places like this.
